Prompt: Lumenwings came to the Reservoir as the initial test group for the portals. Lumenwings call the region the Aquamarine Territory (and themselves “aquamarine lumenwings” by extension) due to the Green River’s ever-shifting hues. Two groups of lumenwings live in one patch of territory: aquamarine diurnals and aquamarine nocturnals, previously much more isolated from one another but now united by the shared space of the camp within an abandoned reservoir. The camp is large and packed with stunning and well-built shops, homes, and various other buildings. Notable, one of these buildings stands out the most, pressed against the far wall of the reservoir: a building solely dedicated to housing the portal’s imports and exports.
Leaving a lumenwing to sleep when they’re already resting is considered basic manners, as is keeping oneself quiet when one knows there are sleeping lumenwings on the opposite schedule in earshot. Sleep is considered highly important to the aquamarine lumenwings, so overworking oneself is frowned upon. The aquamarine lumenwings value patience, empathy, diplomacy, thoughtfulness, and communication more than any other traits; political leaders are typically level-headed, calm under pressure, and measured with others. This does lead to a lack of force in battle/war contexts. Unfortunately, maturity is often pushed upon those not ready to grow up, leading to a small crop of very immature nervous wrecks who cannot handle their own emotions. These lumenwings are outcasts, and a smattering of them have even made another little camp outside of the Reservoir: the Compound. Sure hope they don’t channel their faults into making a cult or something!

Prompt: Laburnum’s Dazzling Chain is joining the ranks of the Troupe, a traveling group of creative lumenwings. This group has a very loose hierarchy, with as many leader-figured as needed to keep things running smoothly— but right now, they’re a tiny group, so there isn’t one designated leader yet. They don’t have any set home, either, though they have a traveling set up that’s easy to take down and put up. They stay in any given location as long as piques their interest, performing various plays, musicals, dances, tricks, magic shows, and more in exchange for resources from the locals! The most common members are either outgoing, theater-kid types who want to go through adventures, or reserved types who like the anonymity that being unknown travelers provides. Laburnum’s Dazzling Chain is among the former!

Name: Sunflower- Blazing Against the Surf

Prompt: I haven't figured out what they'll call themselves, other than a colony, but their group will find themselves on the shores of what appears to be an endless sea. However, this sea is made of fresh, perfectly drinkable water. They wander around for a little while, perhaps sleeping out in the open for a few days, and then finally discover the bluffs. Tall grasses, half flattened by the breeze off the freshwater sea, partially obscure a myriad of small hillocks of sand and earth. There's a scraggly line of trees in the distance, but no immediately apparent cover for them to shelter in.
Fate is with the group, though, as the one acting as leader stumbles upon what appears to be an old, abandoned den. At first its believed to be a single den, perhaps created by a fox or badger. However, as the group explore, they discover it goes deep into the earth and eventually widens out into a cavern. Branching off of this cavern are small tunnels and caves and on the walls of this main area appear to be strange etchings made by ancient claws.
As a sidenote: I've decided there's going to be a naming scheme because I love naming schemes x3 Grubs are given a flower name and then a phrase is added onto the flower once they are ready to join in the work of the colony. So this cat would have just been called 'Sunflower' as a grub and only later gained the 'blazing against the surf'. In fact, I believe that addition is only given later, once the colony establish this tradition. ^^

Prompt: they are trying desperately to escape. living in the glade may seem like paradise at first glance - a land of diverse flora and fauna, vast forests that stretch on and abundant resources. perhaps that is what adds to its charm - for once you enter, you can never truly exit. a magical barrier encompasses the world, preventing any lifeforms in the glade from escaping the island. when the first lumenwings arrived, fleeing distant continents that were slowly crumbling due to the blight that plagued the lands - together, they used their magic to create the barrier - however, it would only work if lumenwings were constantly present. to ensure that it would never break, the spell was casted specially so thay no lumenwing in the colony could ever leave. however, to strengthen the glade's power, new lumenwings would be able to enter. the residue magic also enchanted the lumenwing colony, resulting in them gaining the ability to shapeshift into dragons with mothlike/butterflylike wings.

while never being able to leave such a comfortable place doesn't seem all that bad, the glade is slowly decaying - the rot's presence is faint, but it will grow in time - a result of withstanding countless events over many centuries.
...and being trapped in a land that's slowly dying is really not great.

Prompt: Viviene was just recently hired as a Page for the Noonvalley Public Library's Nor'eastern branch and is going to its first day of work! It only recently moved to the city of Noonvalley after finally moving out from its parents' place... a few years later than it wanted to. More than a few. It spent most of its kithood and free adult time at the library and is both nervous and excited to work at one.

You see, Noonvalley Public isn't just a library for books. From what Viviene understands, it also is one of the flagship libraries for the Magical Artifacts Loan (MAL) system. This is a new system that loans out magical artifacts to the public who might need them. The Nor'eastern branch is apparently going all in, a both exciting and terrifying prospect considering what happened on launch day...

When stepping through the portal they'll find themselves in a medieval fantasy world. The portal will deposit them in a large ornate room, within the Kaldaris Settlement. Luckily the founding Lumenwing managed to calculate where new travelers show up and built a comfortable building just to keep them at ease!

The Kaldaris Settlement is a relatively new village, obviously, the first Lumenwing the portal spit out here was so impressed with the fertile land and rolling hills that they decided to build an encampment. They called it The Kaldaris Settlement, it means "to begin a new".
This small village as grown at a tremendous speed, with lumenwings finding a variety of tasks to keep them busy! Kaldaris is very community minded, with neighbors helping each other out and uplifting anyone you meet. It has a bright you spirit, that is thriving and the community of local lumens are happy to help you out!

Prompt: The Crystalline Cove is a natural wonder that very few know exist. Located deep underground, past long abandoned mineshafts and winding tunnels, lies the Cove. A massive cave that’s filled to the brim with gemstones of all kinds sits on the edge of an unknowably large underground sea. It is here that a small but dedicated group of Lumenwings choose to make their home. The Lumenwings of the Crystalline Cove are fishers and craftsmen, creating beautiful pieces of art from the abundant jewels around them and the iridescent scales of the underground fish. Those who choose to live here know the many tunnels and cave systems like the backs of their paws, and can navigate even the darkest passages. These Lumenwings believe that gemstones have mythical properties, and as such it is traditional for those who live in the Crystalline Cove to be named after a gemstone, so that they may carry a small piece of good luck wherever they go.

Prompt: The Hive is a 'society of likeminded lumenwings' aka a. straight up cult. they are currently residing in a hard-to-reach forest, staying mainly out of sight from other lumenwings unless they are recruiting to their cause (which ive yet to decide on, please have mercy). some lumenwings have willingly joined The Hive (they believed in their cause or were curious), somewhat unwillingly (followed family/lover/friends, joined for protection) or completely unwillingly (uhm. kidnapped. lumen-napped? taken. or they joined at the beginning and were not allowed to leave). this has caused a major divide within the cult itself , which in turn has caused a lot of dissent and some lumenwing running away to form a resistance against The Hive. Blazing Light's reason for joining is that she was following her family after they went through the portal- ending up in the land The Hive resides in. with no other communities to join, his parents trusted in The Hive to protect them- a trust that became obviously misplaced once the cult's true intentions were revealed.
