One of these kits is different to their siblings.. woah! You rolled a legendary trait!
Some added winx lore into my thought process for the legendary kit...
- No cat truly knew the price Foxheart had paid for his strength. The Dark Forest had answered his call when no other spirit would, but shadows never gave without taking something in return. Their reach went deeper than he ever realized, curling through his bloodline and whispering to the heart of one yet unborn.
When the kits came, ThornClan rejoiced. They were small but strong, their pelts shining warmly in the half-light of the den. One was pale and golden, a sunshine tabby with fur so light it seemed to catch every flicker of warmth that touched it. The other was darker, a deep red classic tabby with white tracing his chest and paws like the curl of smoke. For a while, Foxheart let himself believe that the darkness had spared them both.
But peace never lasted long in ThornClan.
It was Brokenclaw who noticed first. He said nothing, only watched quietly whenever the red and white kit stirred. When that kit dreamed, the air in the den grew cold. When they laughed, the shadows along the walls seemed to move with them. No one else seemed to notice, but sometimes the thorns outside the nursery rustled without wind.
The Dark Forest does not forget its debts.
The nursery was quiet except for the soft rustle of moss and the faint chirps outside. The darker kit batted curiously at a thin beam of sunlight filtering through the thorns. The light wavered, bending away as if uncertain whether it should touch them. Beside them, the sunshine tabby watched with bright eyes, tail flicking as they pounced at a drifting feather, untouched by the chill that hung in the air.
Foxheart sat at the den’s entrance, his eyes warm but tired. “You see? Just like any other kits,” he murmured.
Sunflare smiled faintly, though his gaze stayed fixed on the darker one. “Maybe. But do you feel that chill?”
Before Foxheart could answer, the red and white kit let out a joyful giggle. The sound was bright and pure, but the shadows near the wall shivered, as if laughing too.
Sunflare’s fur prickled. “Just a draft,” he said softly.
Foxheart said nothing. His tail curled tighter around his paws as he watched his kits play. Pride lingered in his eyes, but something colder stirred beneath it.
Outside, the forest was still. Yet deep beneath its roots, far beyond the reach of light, something unseen began to wake once more.
