April 28th marks the National Day of Mourning in Canada. A day where we remember those who have lost their lives, experienced injuries, or become ill due to workplace tragedies. We remember them so we never forget how important safety in the workplace is. Everyone deserves to go home the same way they came in at end of shift. I am currently studying occupational health and safety, so its important to me that people know their rights and choose the safest way to work. No amount of money is worth risking life and limb.
Raffle Comp! There is no particular entry requirement for this one, but I encourage you to take a moment to think about safety in the workplace (and even daily life). Look up your rights where you live and keep yourself and your employer accountable for maintaining them. Think about accidents that have happened in your workplace and the effects they have had or a moment where you had a close call. Remember. Learn. Respect that safety laws are in place for you and you share the responsibility to uphold them. Please, be safe out there. <3
