Yuki means snow or happiness in Japanese. The quipping looks like a breeze wisping snow during a snow storm in early animated Christmas movies. (Frosty the Snowman from 1969)

his coloration and sharp quipping reminds me of a northern shrike or loggerhead shrike. they're birds known for storing prey on thorns or barbed wire. i love birds so i'm always looking for an opportunity to name a character after one!
