Prompt: When Cove was still a puppy, he loved nothing more than exploring! He'd stick his head and paws into every nook and cranny. This backfired a few times, he's had a large flower pot stuck on his head, his paw stuck in jars, but the story his handlers always come back to is the time he got his paw completely stuck under the fence. This wasn't totally unusual, but on this particular day they had been watching him play in the yard for about 10 minutes from the kitchen window when they noticed he'd been sitting down for a while. Usually when he would get stuck, he'd whine or try and free himself, but this time was different. They went out to see what was wrong and he had managed to get his paw stuck under the fence, and when they pulled it out there was a terrified little field mouse holding on to it for dear life! Cove was particularly proud of his new friend and tried very eagerly to play with the little rodent before it scampered off, much to Cove's disappoinment. In retaliation to loosing his new friend, he promptly stuck his paw back under the fence and... got it stuck again. So his owners freed him... again... and then decided it was best to head back inside, where Cove proceeded to stare longingly out the window for his mousey friend for the next few hours. He would wag his tail at any subtle movement and bark for his owners to let him out again, but alas, he was unsuccessful in convincing them to let him try and play with the mouse.
