Cat’s name: Honeydew, or "Dewy"
Tribe: Dusk Desert, the Grassy Plains
Traits:
[nr] - scars, weight, whiskers
[c] - hair/mane, fur, claws
[uc] - bird tail
voice claim: Rye Gerhardt from Fargo
Dewy is a happy-go-lucky cat who spends most of his time lazing or playing his banjo by the river in the tall grasses of the Grassy Plains. always looking for ways to entertain himself, he often gets into trouble for playing games with the frogs and food he's supposed to be catching, or for roping other youngsters into his many late night cow-spooking escapades. anything that sounds fun? count him in! doesn't matter the risk or danger, Dewy is always ready for mischief and finding the good even out of a bad time.
hobbies:
- playing the banjo
- flying around to visit other clans and areas
- we love an alt country kid up in this house🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥
backstory stuff:
i'm thinking of keeping my cats as part of the same, singular clan, but spreading them over a swath of land that encompasses several different mini-biomes. this way, i can keep to the desert theme of the tribe, but add some additional flavor to their backstories, individualizing them and allowing for variety of experiences and so-forth.
I might try to make a little mini-map eventually, we'll see.
locations i want to include:
(in order of proximity)

- - his bright green plumage strikes many of the other desert denizens as being odd... but, that's a given when one of his parents is unknown. who were they? not even his desert-parent will tell him anything about who their partner is, was, or where they came from. what secret are they trying to cover?

- "Death Valley"-esque desert of extreme temperatures. a barren desert of endless sand dunes and dried lake basins. the forbidden zone. this is where the most wicked of cats are exiled to, and it is said that once someone ventures in... they never return.
"Thorn-rocks," where the Mojave meets Saguaro. The more standard "cacti labyrinth" area, like the clan description. characterized by tall Saguaro cacti, grey-brown dried shrub bushes, sparse grass, and the occasional joshua tree. typically a great hunting-grounds spot for lizards, snakes, and hawks.
"Grassy Plains." Kenya's lowland savannas combined with the American great plains. grasslands spanning as far as the eye can see, with a handful of small rivers snaking through it. the occasional acacia tree offers the only source of shade in these parts.
The "Oasis" is the central hub for all of the clan's cats. seemingly springing out of nowhere, this natural water source lays at the very center of clan territory, and serves as it's heart. there, beachy palms provide shelter against the desert's harsh environment, plentiful with fruit, small rodents, and all the decadence a cat could desire. however, don't let that fool you--this is still quite the dangerous place for newcomers, with more experienced residents preying on travelers and passersby to extort them for all their worth the moment they least expect it. tricksters, con-artists, and rough battle-scarred warriors run this area, hardened by the desert sands and ready to drain the water from any unwitting stranger that happens upon their turf.
"TheCanyons" surround the plains and desert with high walls of stone, containing within them endless turns and caverns that seem to echo with the sorrowful howls of lost travelers carried by the wind. the cats that live here are strange, reclusive, and wary of outsiders, just like the landscape suggests. unless you have a native guide with you, you're sure to fall into a hidden crevice, cave, or tunnel and get lost, never to see daylight again.
Most believe that "The Secret Forest" is merely a story for kits. according to the legends, it supposedly hides somewhere just out of sight, like buried treasure just beneath the earth's surface. of course, no cat has ever seen this mysterious forest, for if they had, surely someone would know where it is! either it doesn't exist, or those who have been there never tell. most dismiss the existence of such a forest. however, ever so often a mysteriously well-fed stranger will appear in the desert with vibrant plumage and eyes like stars, raising suspicions once more about where they might have come from to have suddenly ended up here...
