Berry's favorite holiday is Christmas because his mom would always make berry pudding- and it was delicious!

Valentine's day. It's a day dedicated to love, and Esme is quite literally made of it. They were originally a mere plush, bouncing between homes, from children to adults and then back to children. Dozens of new stitches, patches and touch-ups were added by their countless owners, adorning their soft plush body, a mosaic of everyone who's ever loved them.
When they were brought to life with magic, given a full-fledged dragon body, they remembered every place they'd been to, every excitable child and somber elder that had looked after them with such care. Though they did not get to keep any of that magic for themself, and though they were given no voice with which to speak their love, they swore to always cherish those who shaped them into the dragon they are today.
Every Valentine's day, they celebrate by making food and crafts and laying them across a blanket, every item relating to a past owner of their plush form. They remember the young dragons from an orphanage who collectively loved chocolate chip cookies, and the elderly dragon who had a collection of forget-me-not flowers that they took care of every day. They remember a teenager who'd had a taste for tea that could never be quenched, a standoffish young adult who's eyes softened at the sight of origami cranes.
Esme creates and collects it all, and when they've gathered everything, they wrap it all up in the blanket, and head outside. Past the tree right outside their home that has dozens of wind chimes hanging from it, each one customized to resemble one of those cherished dragons from their memory. They place their work neatly wrapped up in a blanket in the fire pit they keep outside, and with a few strikes of stone against stone, set it all ablaze. It's their belief that the smoke that rises from the flames will carry on their offerings to whatever afterlife may be out there. The effort is never wasted, even if the items are gone from this world, because all that matters is that they make it to the next.
It's not exactly a common way of celebrating the holiday, a rather bittersweet and somber thing knowing that they will not be able to visit any of their previous owners, but they wouldn't have it any other way. Even though there is no way for them to proclaim their love to the skies, no way to get a response back for the things they do to honor the dragons of their past, they hope that their actions will speak louder than the words they lack ever could. Even if other holidays are enjoyable, none of them hold such meaning to Esme, and once they've completed their offering they lay under their tree full of wind chimes, and recall all of the beautiful memories from their past.
Nothing is more powerful in this world than love, and Esme is living proof of that.
