Prompt: the mushroom gene is exclusive to the shetland pony, only truly interacts with a chesnut base (minimal tinting seen on a bay base occasionally) and there's a lot of questions surrounding this recessive gene. With it being recessive, the only way to achieve it is by breeding two horses that have the mushroom gene; and with this, you have a 25% chance of it carrying over onto the foal! The way it works is by leeching the melanin from the fur to create the distinctive sepia color instead of the usual chestnut.

Prompt:
Some Horses Have Mustaches
Not to be confused with whiskers, some horses can grow mustaches! This phenomenon is common to native horse breeds that have adapted to grazing in poor light or less than ideal conditions as the mustache helps them feel the grass.

Prompt: Ancestral horses were originals "browsers" versus grazers. The change from browsing to grazing teeth was first seen in
Merychippus during the middle and late Miocene. Merychippus looked much like a modern pony. It was fairly large, standing about 10 hands (101.6 cm, or 40 inches) high, and its skull was similar to that of the modern horse.
