It was a vibrant and warm spring, long ago before Primals ever thought to traverse in search of new lands. A tribe of Primals longed for something other than fighting for status or the eventual travel. With spring coming in like a lamb so to came the inevitable sounds of primal kits playing and the wondrous sounds of other wildlife revelling in the celebration of new life and sounds of their own young. New young was in abundance however spring was not completely in full bloom, food still being scarce and spread thinly throughout the glade. The adult Primals were required to hunt more to feed the many mouths within the tribe, which required leaving this years young alone for long periods of time.
The elders soon became overwhelmed and devised a fool proof plan to keep the kits entertained and allow the other Primals to go hunting and foraging. Simas whom controlled stone and water smoothed out river rocks, and gems not fit for jewellery were gathered and placed in a pile. Simas whom controlled color created paints and mixes of various colors similar to those used for cave painting for the kits to paint those smooth rocks. Simas whom controlled earth, nature and light made a small feast of treats for kits whom participated in whatever they were planning. Other simas of different powers simply helped with keeping kits happy, entertained and enjoying the festivities themselves.
The smooth rocks were given to kits to paint, seen as decorations in the kits eyes. Gemstones and the now painted rocks were then hidden by various adult Primals within the territory. Kits then after all was hidden were allowed to roam around the glade to collect these treasures. The elder's plan worked so well with kits being occupied and the tribe being able to hunt with no worry for their kits that it was made a holiday in the spring. Now being celebrated yearly, the once last ditch attempt to have some peace has now turned into a festival where kits paint rocks, search for gems and rocks hidden by the adults and learn to respect the earth and what it gives. And of course have some good food while they are at it.
(This lore is non-cannon for the sima universe)
