great camas symbolize resilience, something linnea is all too familiar with.

she was young, too young to really remember it, when she was abandoned - but she had a few fleeting memories. she remembered sprawling dunes and horizons lined by sagebrush, as far as one could see. she remembered scorched paws and hazy vision, the white-hot sun taunting her from above. she remembered feeling completely and terrifyingly alone.

the deserts of the barrens are a vast and unforgiving expanse, perilous for the most experienced of wanderers. there was little hope for something as tiny and sickly as her. and yet, she persisted.

she trudged on, a fleck of silvery fur lost within the endless stretch of bleached sands. and, as it turns out, they aren't all that endless. the day she found her refuge was a blur; she was desperately hungry, and so, so tired of the taunting mirages that fled her as she neared. until, at last, one didn't vanish. it was a brief reprieve from the desert, but it was enough. a pond of vibrant cerulean water, and yellowing grasses that felt like velvet upon her blistered paws. a canopy of creaking oaks that provided just enough shade to soothe her burning pelt, and, hidden beneath their cover, the most beautiful flowers she'd ever seen.

great camas rose from the earth in blooms of dusty violet, full of sweet nectar and with petals that felt like silk. she kept a few - tucking them behind her ear and carrying some with her as she went - and then she departed. linnea was nothing if not resilient. she knew, with an unfaltering certainty, that she would find a home.

Her mother, as the Sybil Superior, can be very serious and sometimes even cold. Every action her mother makes is cool and calculated- entirely logical and intentional. As a result, she wasn't always the most affectionate of parents. While her father was always adoring and supportive, she wanted nothing more than her mother's acceptance. Her mother's love. The Lillies of the Valley she wears are actually the first and only gift she has ever received from her mother. They were gifted to her after her very first successful mission as a Marauder. She has worn them every day since.

Merle's scars are the tragic result of her leg getting lodged beneath a burning branch while fleeing from a forest fire. She wasn't a kitten when it happened, but she was still very young- only 3 seasons old. She was rescued by her half-sister who received scars along her shoulder as a result of shoving the branch with her body. The two she-cats were very lucky to survive, their scars a reminder of the lives they could have lost that day. While Merle was very self-conscious of her scars as a softpaw, she learned to appreciate what made her who she is. She is not her scars, and yet, she is not Merle without them.
