Prompt: Introducing the feather star (Crinoidea)! There are about 550 species of these magnificent invertebrates, but are sadly the lesser-known cousin of the sea urchin. They're basically the closest thing we have to walking plants- how cool!

The cute Sea Pigs are amazingly good babysitters, according to the Monterey Bay Aquarium!
Researchers think that young king crabs use them as protection by hiding under them from predators. The cucumbers themselves don’t have any predators other than parasites. Other deep-sea critters don’t like them because they excrete a poison through their skin, giving their little hidey-crabs ample time to munch while the cucumbers eat off the sea floor and the crabs get bigger! A whopping 96% of the juvenile crabs were noted to be clinging underneath a sea pig during a research survey in 2016, which.. that’s a lotta sea pigs to check out under the hood, and researchers don’t even know if the oinkers even benefit from their yummy friends.

Prompt: The Cutest Ugly fish there ever was- the Blobfish!

I just couldn't help myself! Its so ugly its cute!
It is a deep sea fish usually found in depths of 4000 feet off the Australian and New Zealand coast! Did you know the blobfish doesn't have much bone or muscle or a swim bladder, which allows the pressure of the deep sea to provide their with body structural support as it doesnt need a rigid body structure. Th8s is all to conserve energy! When brought to the surface, the blobfish decompresses, giving it the iconic gelatinous blob!

Congrats!
