Tier 3 TrainingPersonality: Atticus is a gentle soul with some spunk in him. He is nonchalant about everything but seems to be happy with his life. He is usually seen as energetic and playful with others. Atticus lives to jump so much so that the fences cannot keep him contained, but he does not want to wonder off from home. His favorite person is Lyndy, one of the trainers he has known since birth. Whenever he sees her, he whinnies and taps his hooves with joy.

First training experience: Atticus is a natural born jumper. He gets excited about practice and can’t wait for competition. One day, his trainer noticed he was sort of slacking though. They had been going through the same course for a few days, so thought maybe it was time to change it up. This peaked Atticus’ interest the next day when it was time to train. He was soaring with room to spare, maybe a little too fast with excitement. Eventually he got bored going around the pen with the new jump course and seemed to drift off looking outward. His trainer thought maybe it was time for a break. Atticus had other plans as he did not want to break; he loves jumping. When his trainer came back, Atticus was seen jumping the random things spread out through the fields, running as if racing. He loved the scenic route of jumping probably more. From then, Atticus trained in both show jumping and cross-country jumping.
Traumatic Event: Atticus was first discovered by a women named Lyndy. She found him being mistreated and abused by an awful man trying to sell him for slaughter. She decided to rescue Atticus and steal him away in the night. Unfortunately, a big thunderstorm rolled in that night. Atticus does not like thunder or lightning as it makes him feel lonely and scared.
Booms and crashes are all he hears coming from the sky with no where to go or hide when all of a sudden, a woman bursts through the barn doors. She is carrying a halter in hand and coming closer. She attempts to calm Atticus, but he is acting out from being spooked by the storm. “My name is Lyndy, and I am here to get you out of this dreadful place” says the women. Atticus does not want to go out into the storm, but he does want to get away from the man hurting him. Lyndy struggles getting Atticus to go into the trailer with the storm brewing, but he manages to go in. While driving down the road, a tree they are bypassing is struck with lightning and the flash causes Lyndy to swerve off the road crashing. The trailer Atticus is in gets unhinged and rolls sideways into the ditch. Both of them are unconscious from hitting their head.
Another trainer from the facility Lyndy was heading back to starts to wonder where she is and why she is not back yet. They gather a search party to look for her since the storm is not letting up. When Atticus and Lyndy are found, Lyndy is still unconscious, but Atticus is thrashing around in the trailer terrified. He is brought back to the facility while Lyndy is driven off to the hospital. A veterinarian checks out Atticus but recommends having him put down due to the trauma inflicted; he does not think he will recover from the accident. The other trainers do not decide on anything since it was Lyndy who wanted to rescue him. Since Lyndy’s injuries were minor, she was released from the hospital right away. Atticus did not want anyone to come near him. He was put in a stall and getting agitated. When he saw Lyndy approach the door, he stopped and just stared, wondering what she would do. She just stared back at him, not coming into the stall or saying anything. Atticus felt a little relieved. Everyday, Lyndy would come by to check on him but not bother him. He was starting to get used to her presence, but Atticus still did not know what would happen to him. One day, Lyndy came by with a halter and entered the stall speaking calmly. Atticus was hesitant at first but let her approach. She led him to a round pen to try and join up, but it took a while for Atticus to accept and fully trust her. Lyndy did not want to push him too much, so when Atticus started getting fed up with running around, he was put back in his stall. After a few days of the two working together, Atticus came to trust Lyndy and joined up with her, understanding her as well as him.
