Promt 1 - How you came across this wildie at the Carnival

184 words

It was a warm summer day at the local carnival, with the usual hustle and bustle of people enjoying the rides, games, and food. As I walked through the stalls, a flash of movement caught my eye. I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled upon the corrals towards the back of the carnival. As I wandered through the rows of corrals that housed the various wild horses, my gaze landed on corral number 11 and there was a majestic creature. I couldn't help but be drawn to the horse, captivated by her beauty and grace. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the her, I imagined she had a beautiful coat under all that mud, and wild eyes that seemed to hold a thousand secrets. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching the wild horse in the corral, marveling at her beauty and strength. I noticed how she moved with a fluid grace, how she seemed to be at home in her confined surroundings despite her wild nature. I knew I had to gain her trust and bring her home with me.

Promt 2 - How you have started to gain their trust and Halter break them

239 words

At first, she was skittish and wary of my presence. But slowly, with patience and kindness, I began to earn her trust. I spent hours sitting alongside the fence, offering her bits of carrot and apple, speaking softly to her in a soothing voice. Gradually, she began to approach me, she was curious and started sniffing my outstretched hand and allowing me to scratch her neck. After a while longer and a good few more carrots and apples, I reached out a hand slowly, offering a friendly gesture. To my surprise, she nuzzled my hand gently, as if accepting my presence. I could feel the warmth of her breath and the softness of her muzzle, and I was filled with a sense of awe and wonder at being so close to such a magnificent creature.
Today was the day I wanted to attempt introducing her to the halter. I could feel the tension in her body, the uncertainty in her gaze, but I also sensed a growing level of trust.
I started by introducing her to the halter, allowing her to sniff and investigate it at her own pace. I then slowly began to acclimate her to the feeling of the halter around her head and neck, rewarding her with treats and praise for her calm demeanor. With each passing day, I could see she was growing more comfortable with the halter, her movements becoming more fluid and relaxed.

Prompt 3 - How they do first time under saddle and how their grooming went

300 words

As she gained more and more trust in me, I had started to work at getting her used to all the grooming equipment, and also the tack. As she got used to all the grooming equipment today I planned to give her a full groom from head to toe as she was still absolutely filthy! I set to work grooming her, brushing out her tangled mane and tail, I used the rubber curry comb on her body and legs to remove the worst of the mud and then finally picking out her hooves, We had been practising picking her feet up ready for this, she was a little unsure at first but took it really well. She stood patiently, nuzzling my hands in the hopes of some more carrots and apples. She looked a lot better but really needed a good bath to look her best, but she had done really well, the bath can wait for another day.

Today was the day! I'd been working with her to get her used to wearing the saddle and bridle, at first she snorted and stamped her feet nervously, but with each passing day, she began to relax ever so slightly, she was now a lot more comfortable with wearing the tack. As the morning progressed, I introduced her to the feeling of a rider on her back. I got on and off a few times, sitting in the saddle, gently rocking back and forth as she walked around the pen. She tensed up at first, unsure of what to make of this new experience, but gradually she began to relax, realizing that I meant her no harm. I hoped now she had enough trust in me that I'd be able to take her home with me and continue working with her.
