Calves have more muted markings and colours compared to their adult selves.
All calves have a white or cream undershading and rarely display full A locus markings.
They 'colour-up' a few weeks after the weaning process.
I Locus and S Locus do not display at all and snowflake and roan are minimal or also not displayed.
