A sima comes out from the shadows, clearing their throat to announce their arrival. "hey, i noticed your in town.... happen to have some herbs on you?" they ask, looking at you with curious eyes. "i'm.. the town healer and i've run out of herbs, i was hoping you had some." they explain, deciding that you do not have herbs with you. "i've been trying to find natural methods to dissolving this curse but all of my attempts have failed. i did however see a sima with a large amount of jewels on them roaming around. but i've been so invested in finding herbs that i cant chase after a mysterious sima!" they finish, looking past you and to the outskirts of the village. they seem lost in thought as they excuse themselves and walk past you towards the far side of the village.

this strange sima seems to be a healer? and they say they've tried to stop the curse!
how have they tried to stop the curse?

A heavy, defeated sigh escape the dark-faced sima's pursed lips. They had hoped it wouldn't come to this. This.. this power they were going to attempt to contact.. is nearly the very same that caused the town's misfortunes in the first place. Dark, ancient powers beyond any realm of irrefutable knowledge. Yet their very existence ever never argued against.
"It.. it will be different this time. The circumstances.. they-.. They're not the same. [i]I am not the same.."
They were procrastinating. Every fiber of their being said not to. That it would only end in disaster. Just as it had before.
Black magic, curses, dark powers called upon by entities beyond mortal comprehension. It was this very pot of evil that brought the Curse upon their town. It stood to reason those same powers could.. heal them.. right?

Pan doesn't know anything about biology, nothing at all, and they have absolutely no affinity for physical medicine.
Pan is really empathic, and extremely good at understanding what's going on in other's heads, and offering practical solutions. Ever since they were little, they've been a bit of a mum friend, something like a pseudo-therapist for all their friends, so, naturally, when they got out of school, they studied to be a therapist.
Obviously, they're not sure about it, but they have a deep suspicion that the curse is being spread due to a negative mind set; something like a nocebo effect, where, because other simas are convinced it will spread, and that that's a bad thing, they're manifesting it into being a bad thing. It is a problem, it is of concern, it is bad, but it's bad because we don't have proper coping mechanisms in place, and because of the stigma around it. While Pan can't change their beliefs, she can show them ways to cope with it, in the hopes of stopping their negativity manifesting it.
They've been hosting workshops to explain how to live with curses, offering free therapy sessions, and referring everyone who therapy isn't helping to potion makers who can make physical cures. They've also been offering help with learning how to style the crystals, and even to a friend who normally works in dentistry who can carve down the crystals into something more manageable for extreme cases.
