Chicoon name: Gray ( Companion is Leaf! )
Writing:
Gray met leaf in.. an odd way, to say the least. Gray had always been a solitary Chicoon. He'd spend the most of his days alone in his home, gazing out of a window or such. He had no hobbies, hardly any interests, and his favorite weather was when it was stormy and grey outside. He didn't exactly enjoy his life, but he was content.
On one of the rare times that Gray ventured out into public - he was on his way to the local grocer to restore his food store - was when he met Leaf. The first time that Gray had met Leaf, the little companion was sitting alone against the base of a tree near the grocer. He looked up at Gray with sad, wide eyes as he passed, and then placed a tiny paw over his stomach. It looked as though the poor guy was starving.
Upon seeing this, Gray immediately averted his gaze from the pitiful creature - he wasn't going to give-in to some charity case. As he ventured through the store, he unconciously ventured into the companion food isle, and it was then, while his gaze flickered between the photos of happy Chicoons and their companions on the product packaging, that he had a change of heart. He found himself reaching for and placing a can of comanion food into his cart, and afterwards, he checked out.
Gray carried his bags of groceries out to the small, hungry-looking companion, and he stopped in front of it. He wouldn't look strait at the companion as he held out the can of food, whether it was shame or embarrassement. After all, this was a first for Gray, and it felt strange to approach a complete stranger with kindness.
The companion slowly lifted itself from it's seated position, and it gently took the can of food from Grays hand and.. threw it right back at his face! While Gray was groaning at the sudden newfound pain, the companion caught hold of Gray's bag of groceries and took off running!
Gray gave chase, and wound up cornering the companion after a few minutes of chasing it around. He was out of breath when he finally haulted the little theif, and to the companion's surprise, Gray was smiling. He was laughing, even. This had single-handedly been the most fun he'd had in years!
If you were to ask Gray now, to look back at that moment, and to describe how he'd felt, and the change it made in him, he'd tell you that it was as if his world was colorful again. He lively and free, unconfined to the miserable life that he'd been leading.
After that incident, the little companion continued to play trick after trick on Gray. It loved to see his smile. After the sneaky companion would trick Gray, he'd leave a bit of food for it, and after a while of shenanigans, Gray eventually invited the companion to be his own companion, and the little guy happily agreed! Gray named him Leaf, for the large leaf that he wore on his head, and the two of them continued to enjoy their days as the trickster and the tricked.
