though technically a 'rare' trait, the nightmare trait doesn't pass like the rest.
if a nightmare is bred to a normal sleep sheep and it passes, the lamb will be a chimeric hybrid. these hybrids cannot pass the nightmare trait on.

Everyone has secrets they fear coming out.

The nightmares Scylla brings are not unearthly or outlandish terrors- she prefers instead to weave fear into the mundane, taking the hidden things dreamers fear and dragging them into the light.

A friend or family member responding to some news, and reacting just as badly as the dreamer had feared. The heart-gripping feelings of fear and shame and distrust- Scylla feeds on them.

Some white lie or buried secret catching up to them- and it's not even relevant or damning anymore, but in the dream it expands to take up everything, to burn at their mind and leave them struggling to remember what conversations were real when they awaken.

Sometimes, there is nothing more terrifying than the truth. Scylla believes this- and so she takes it upon herself to expose what is hidden, to reveal those deeply-buried secrets: even if only in someone's mind.

Perhaps she was not always this way. Some dreamwalkers have wondered if she suffered a betrayal in the past, to have adopted such an oddly targeted way of causing nightmares.

Scylla has never stuck around long enough to answer queries- her secrets, at least, will remain her own.

I like to find the ones that hate something specific - like the smell of roses and and feel of sand beneath their feet - and let them run for hours through a field of what they hate most. It doesn't have to be frightening - just severely annoying and inconvenient. 

My favorite was the man who hated tea parties and teddy bears and I made him have the same nightmare every night for days of him having fancy tea parties with dozens of blinking, fuzzy teddy bears and Lady Gaga as the background music.  For some reason he also hated cheese and thats all he could eat and smell in the nightmare. He even drank cheese tea."

Noa, within Hebrew, means movement. Noa named herself, after the nightmares she so loves to cause. She's a huge fan of disorientation and movement based nightmares. The nightmares Noa will give can be anywhere on that spectrum, but her favorite dreams to give are falling ones. Have you ever had a dream where somehow you find yourself falling from a great height only to wake up before impact? That would be the work of Noa. Have you ever had a dream where it seems like every movement you make is a video transition and you can never truly rely on your surroundings? Noa yet again. Her goal isn't terror, as most nightmares produce. It's confusion and mild levels of fear that cause you to wake up and still be spinning. She prefers to disorient, putting together realities that jump from one place to the next, causing inner turmoil as the one dreaming loses trust in what’s real. An empty hallway, the sound of static and clammy linoleum under your fingertips. You hear the whispering.

The lights flicker at irregular intervals, and the rooms remain dark and empty, a lone clipboard thrown haphazardly by a doorway. The air still smells of mildew and old disinfectant, and your lungs feel like caving in. You try to move despite knowing your feet won't take you anywhere- you are rooted in place, so matter how hard you try to run.

You've been here before and you know you'll find yourself back here again. Everything is still in its place- even the stretchers remain leaning against the mold-stained walls, rusted and stained with dark splotches and splatters of hell knows what.

It's all the same, hauntingly familiar yet so foreign. You can taste the decay on your lips, your heartbeat thudding in your ears at the distant sound of a lone heart monitor at the end of the hall. When you walk into that room, what will you see? Will it be your name on that clipboard? You still have yet to find out.

But you will; all in due time. You'll be back soon, after all.

A unique domain in which Bellatrix finds herself appearing is in an odd stage that seems to sit in between wakefulness and sleep. It's a stage in which she finds that her victim is conscious yet unable to move.

In this stage, panic is quick to cross the mind of the one being affected because of how truly helpless they feel as they sit there in complete darkness unable to move. They struggle and squirm, trying to move their body or even yell out for help, to which, their attempts are fruitless.

Bellatrix is able to use this panic that her victims induce upon themselves and play with their mind, taking advantage of the fact that the victim is in that between stage where she can still have an affect on their minds through a dream. You've waited for so long to hear about what kind of nightmares she causes?

Well, to put it simple, she's the dark figure that stands beside your bed. Or perhaps the figure standing in corner in your room. She is only seen during this special between moment of wakefulness and sleep, and she enhances the anxiety that you already feel by not being able to move. But she can be more powerful than just one darkened figure staring at you. You can also hear her.

She can change her voice to mock anything. She can sound like a man or woman, if she so pleases. She can growl and she can whisper "psst" in your ear to get your eyes to glance at a new spot in the room. She can be anything, anywhere, all at once.

These nightmares seem like they last forever when in reality, the entire event only lasts from a few seconds to up to a minute or two. She gets the job done and she gets it done efficiently for the time that she has with the dreamer before they either come to full consciousness or fall asleep again

So now you ask, what kind of creature can do such a thing? Bellatrix. Bellatrix can. It's a rare power that nightmares can have. To cause nightmares during this between state of wakefulness and sleep. But it's one that she has, and one that she takes pride in.

Humans have come to call this occurrence 'sleep paralysis'.

And the name Bellatrix has earned for herself is the sleep paralysis demon. [400 words. Used the 200 word extra]

In youth, Bellum was weak, powerless without any Dream Weaving capabilities. Cursed under
the whims of her gifted peers, she was targeted and tormented whenever she left her mind
unguarded, but this only made her subconscious stronger; armored and fortified. She didn't
need the power to weave dreams; she need only make others live out her nightmares.

Dream intentions can’t be planted, only magnified. Every spiteful sneer, Bellum knows as a
sword raised. Every hostile argument, a cannon lit. Her victims will watch their world quake,
their skies split, and everything they love ensnared in a raging masacre.

Equality is a deceptive daydream. There are only the weak and the strong. Bellum tests for who
fights back, who resists, and who crumbles, and she is raising her army.

As long as there is power to be won, Bellum will wage a war.

I’m sure most of us made something similar to this dream at least once in a lifetime.
You don’t know when it started, but you are falling. Sometimes you can can see the ground, other times there’s only black. Sometimes you wake up screaming and you are in you bed, other times you feel like you woke up, but you are still in the dream. You remember you were falling, touch the solid bed, but then you are falling again. Is that a dream? You wake up and you are in your bed… is it real?

The falling feeling is inspired by the wings and the lighter swirls that look like blowing wind to me
