Development!
What's this?? A new gene was found! Kossa is a form of white spotting based on the Pustertaler Sprinzen cattle.
Characterized by solid or speckled spots down the side of the dog with the belly and spine being left white.
Nose, mouth and ears will always have pigment.
How was this gene discovered?

Prompt: The Kossa gene has been heard of but very uncommon, until a breeder did a breeding and had a few come out with the Kossa gene expressed. He had no idea that his two dogs even carried the gene! Now it has slowly started to be more common, as many people are in love with the beautiful patterns on these amazing canines.

Prompt: This unusual Schönen Spitz was actually turned over to a Spitz rescue as a young dog along with his siblings from a breeder that was wary of the litter's unusual pattern. No one could deny he and his siblings looked like a Schönen Spitz, but everyone assumed there had been a mix-up and they were actually a mixed breed. Curious, the rescue paid for genetic testing only to discover the pups truly were purebred with some never seen before white pattern gene. Once the litter was confirmed to be purebred, lots of breeders reached out hoping for the chance to give one of these unique dogs a new home and see if their pattern would pass to their future puppies.

Prompt:
This gene is the result of a spontaneous mutation. When this pup was born with these markings, the breeder at first thought maybe the coat colors would shift as the pup aged, but they stayed. Given that the pup was born with these markings from a dam who is best friends with some cattle, could it be that there is some kind of magic at play?
