Like many other ironhearts Melora was raised on a childhood of constant roughhousing among her littermates. Play fighting was encouraged from a young age to help prepare them for what adulthood held in store. Other than that most of their time was spent exploring the nearby land.

Those two activities composed Meloras greatest passions. Getting to go out and adventure, see the world filled her with a joy like no other. Somedays she could not ever imagine being tied down to a job as a protector. Despite all Melora continued on with her training. She perfected the use of throwing knives finding them to be her preferred weapon compared to the much clunkier feeling swords or axes the other used. When a storkie would visit, more often than not Melora was able to convince them to head out with her, giving her a chance to explore without the fear of larger threats looming over her shoulders.

Meloras hope was that when she reached adulthood she would be allowed out on her own. Her fellow littlehearts never strayed far from their home, but maybe she could. It had the possibility to be useful, she could scout out new resources.

More than any use it could provide to the others Melora wanted to be herself. Just because she was born an ironheart does not mean she should have to fit the molded idea of one. She could be more than just her ability to protect. This idea kept Melora going. One day she would be something great. But for now, she was just a child, a child who had other ironhearts to wrestle with.
