The "C" Locus controls Phaeomelanin, or "red" pigment in dogs. Ref pigment has no bearing on nose and eye color, that's always determined by the black pigment.
Unlike black with its two distinct colors, red is one color that varies in intensity. The C locus has a few more options than B and D, but you can tell what color a dog should be by looking the first set of genes in the pair.

Cd = dark red
C = red
cch = tan
ce = cream
cw = silver
c = offwhite

so for example

Cdce = dark red, carries cream

cchcw = tan, carries silver

cece = cream

cc = offwhite
