Story:
I was a little nervous to meet this new mare. I'd heard some of them could be agressive...However, when I saw her, she didn't seem like that at all. She was a bit aloof and seemed maybe nervous. She didn't act like she wished me harm, though. I pulled out some tasty treats for her. They'd already put a halter on her (or such). Before taking the rope, I gave her a couple treats. I then took the rope, and spoke to her. I managed to lead her to the trailer, by giving treats and speaking softly. Once she was in the trailer, I got back out and shut the door.

We drove home, my husband and i, and our kids were quite ecstatic. I asked them to go back to the house, she wasn't ready yet. She needed to get used to Elijah and I first, after all. I now hummed quietly to Stormy, as I went into the trailer to get her out. She stared at my husband...so he spoke softly to her just as I did. Together, we took her into our little barn, not too big as we only planned to have a small herd. I took her into a stall, while Eli waited outside. He continued to speak to her as I hummed, and I took the rope off. I brushed her a bit, then went and got her some water and food. Standing there, petting her and then starting to softly sing, I smiled.

She was soon leaning her head onto me.

We'd bonded on our first day.
