Being a masquerade sima, he adores the night as it's an ideal time for him to be...well, himself instead of in the form of a mortal sima. It also is the dark of night that allows him to communicate with those that he cares about in their true forms, as he has no true connections to simas who enjoy the light of the day. Not to mention that his golden stripes stand out wonderfully in the darkness, making him look even more beautiful than he usually does, that's definitely a plus as well.
