Prompt: Callum would much rather stay inside. Sure, he's got a sweater and fur, but one step out of the house prompts him to turn right back in. His favorite thing to do is grab a good bone or chew and curl up by the fire to get warm. He also enjoys cuddling with his fellow collies and tussling indoors. Though he's too stubborn to take a step outside, he often looks outside at the fall leaves or snow and yearns to know what it would be like if he jumped in leaf piles, or fluffy heaps of snow.

prompt: sage's favorite time of year is fall! although sage is a homebody, just like her owner, she loves going on walks around the neighborhood! when indoors, sage can be found snuggled up under her favorite blanket right next to her favorite person (her owner, of course!). her blanket is full of holes from when she'd drag it around everywhere as a puppy, but it still has the perfect level of comfiness in her opinion. sage loves being indoors getting cuddles and chewing on all of her favorite toys, but she also loves her daily walks! her owner always has matching leashes for every season change, and when the cold weather comes she pulls out another of sage's favorite items - her sweater! once she has her sweater on and she's all leashed up, sage is ready to go! whenever sage is outdoors, she patiently listens to her owner's commands - unless there's a leaf pile nearby! no leaf pile is safe in sage's presence, it must be jumped in! when the leaf pile is scattered once again, sage is content and she even gets to bring some leaves home with her that ended up stuck to her sweater. sage wishes it could be fall all year long!

The sky began to grow dark as the sun sank below the needle for the night.
She could barely make it out behind all the cloud cover, peeking through, but it was there, barely. Even if she hadn't been able to see it she could picture it - just as she could picture Rainier when the mountain wasn't out, as she could picture the trees that marked the edge of the property when the fog and the mist obscured them.
She stopped squinting into the sun and focused instead on herself. Her pawpads, rough from the splintered wood, her topside, damp from the light shower that had sprinkled little drops into the dusk, the tips of her ears, numb from the chill of the wind. She shivered, glancing inside, then looked back out into the deepening set of the sun. The breeze ruffled her short fur, making her whiskers twitch. She stood from where she had been sitting on the covered porch, paws finding their way down the rickety stairs, sidestepping the creaky part of the second step, before settling onto the ground. Pine needles and broad leaves crackled under her paws, not quite wet enough to fully snap, but not so soaked as to turn to mush. The rain continued - it got heavier, even, as she trotted out to sit under one of the trees that was still holding its leaves.
The clouds had obscured the sun. It was below the needle, now.
She sat, and she closed her eyes and filled her lungs with the damp evening air, whisking in all the scents of pine and sap and squirrel and dead leaves and rain, until she felt about ready to burst. The cold nipped at her nose, the dark dampness of it all sunk into her pelt and wriggled its way underneath, into her bones. Her tail thumped the ground, sweeping away leaf litter. When she opened her eyes and exhaled, her breath turned to steam in the cold air. It rose like smoke around her head, blown away by the rippling breeze.
The rain kept pattering, the clouds kept rolling, the wind kept blowing. One of the trees nearby groaned, branches swayed, leaves fell.
"Vani?"
Her head turned towards where she had come from. The door was open - heat poured from it, an inviting warmth, the smell of cider and cocoa and happiness wafting with it. She cocked her head and wagged her tail, standing. She was wet and it was cold and the sun had dipped below the base of the needle now. It was nowhere to be seen.
She turned her gaze from the sunset to the open door and padded her way back to the porch. The second step creaked under her paw, and she was met with a smile and a cookie that tasted like love and cinnamon and a warm towel to dry her off.
Her bones ached.
Fall was gone.
The door closed.
She blinked, wagging her tail slightly, as if unsure of herself now that she was under a roof, out of the rain. There was no cold breeze - instead she was greeted by radiating warmth off the crackling fire, cedar smoke rising in rings. The rug looked awfully inviting. She whined, looking back up, and her head was enveloped by a soft sweater, lumping its way around her neck, falling gently over her shoulders. Her short fur, chilled and damp, began to warm as her body's heat rose and was trapped against her under the thick material. She gave herself a big shake before loping over to the fireplace, relishing its warmth, the gentle purr and hiss of the logs as they were engulfed by flame. A gray old dog lay with her back to the fire, snoring gently.
She sneezed, circling quietly, before folding her legs underneath her and curling up in a comfy-cozy shaped blob. The gray old dog took a shuddery breath in and exhaled deeply. Vani pressed their backs together, letting her head droop to the floor, felt the hiccup of her heart as her body slackened.
She let out a contented sigh and closed her eyes.
Fall was over.
Winter was here.

It doesn't matter how cold it could be, she will always be eager to go out and sniff around, wanting to search for small animals that are trying to hibernate or rest, and find different species of flowers! It's specially funny for her when there's snow, as it's an extra challenge! Even her owners from time to time decide to play with her some intelligence test and hide some treats in the snow of their garden! What's more, there's nothing better than after spending a good time with cold temperatures and sniffing in the snow, to go back home and lay down beside her owners, eating some treats and comfy and warm under a blanket.

Really like the sweater with this color!
