Halloween always brings about the laughter and candy, chilled air under the moonlit clouds if the weather permits…
But on the island Camp Nightwing calls home, there is a deeper, darker chill that rustles and moans with the winds over the course of hallowed October. When the winds howl and the moon rises bright and high, shadows leech through the deepest of the Dark Woods Den, throwing scattered shades that look more like sharp claws eager to snatch you away, teeth waiting to gnash at you, feral eyes watching your every move…
As Halloween nears, the wind ushered out a new sound… the stamping of hooves, uneven at times, the enraged snorting of what can only be a horse. High pitched screams pierce the air the closer you get to the Den, but fear and rumor keeps most out of the wooded recesses.
Until this season…
There are beasts ringed with fire, fleet of foot and fierce natures that have appeared; they appear as a horse, though looks can be deceiving. They are not bothered by the chill in the air, seem to welcome it even, nor does it seem as though they are moved by hunger or thirst. Fiery eyes and hooves clash against the surrounding grounds of Camp Nightwing, causing such a scare for most of the residents, animal and visiting human alike, that it has been decided that something must be done even if only to help quiet the many horses that call the island home.
The director has asked some fellow horsemen and women to help him with the daunting task of rounding up any of these forsaken horses that appear outside of the Den’s boundaries, whether it will do any good or not has yet to be determined, however. Will you be able to capture one of these fearsome Trotters? Or will you prefer to join those who are staying back from the forays into these creatures, enjoying a bit less spookiness with some of the others the director has allowed to set up some booths and friendly competitions with?

Welcome to Camp Nightwing everyone! I sure appreciate everyone coming by to give me a hand during this strange time. Specters are flooding the camp grounds and I have reason to believe that they were the horses that perished during the clearing of Dark Woods Den many, many years ago. The brave ones can mount your horses, grab your lassos and equipment, and follow me into the Den.
