Vixen fox horses are a lean, muscular and agile breed, the once beautiful breed was used in fox hunts but due to new laws fox hunts have been put to an end and the Vixen Fox Horses have been reduced to a shadow of their ancestors. Here at The Fox Den we Strive to bring back the glory of this breed, and help the ones who have ended up in less fortunate places in life. These horses tend to range in size from 15 hh to 18.3 hh, their coat color and patterns vary from Vixen to Vixen but these horses tend to have more Appaloosa markings then other breeds due to the fact that their ancestors all had a Appaloosa family member. They are believed to be a mix and or hybrid of Hucul-highland, Quarter horses,Gelderland, and the Barb. These horses are often nowadays used in Show jumping, Driving or Cutting. Most Vixens have a calm and gentle temperament with the occasional exception, these horses make good bringer and young rider horses but can also suit a older and more experienced rider. When in movement, their walk, trot, and canter, have such suspension that makes each gait unique from other breeds, Due to this they are a prized breed and tend to be great in Show rings.
