Ven was a small kitty who lived on the so called bad side of the orb. He was smaller than most but with a stubborn and righteous streak that often got him into a great deal of trouble.
Like today.
He stared up at the larger individual in front of him. She was sly and haughty, but most importantly she had just been picking on a storkie for something they couldn't even control. Sure the brown storkie behind Ven looked and smelled a little dirty but that was no reason to constantly hound and talk down to them about it.
The offending storkie was light years above Ven in strength and popularity but he didn't care. She needed to be taught a lesson.
"At least Dachel knows how to not get tape stuck to his fur." Ven spat, letting a small feral grin come across his face as the bully checked her fur frantically.
He whispered a hushed whisper to Dachel to run now, before the bully turned back to face him, angered now at being made a fool.
"What are you friends with Dirty Dachel or something Runt?"
"Nah, but I'd rather be his friend than even look at your face."
He didn't have another warning, claws swiping towards his face and he leapt back. Closer to the wall. He didnt want to be cornered, he wasnt sure if a teacher would hear the fight in time. There was too many other young storkies to see the problem anyway.
No one would help him, but he didn't need help.
He growled, hissing and swiping and making her back away just that extra step before he pounced. Directly onto her face which he scrambled up, leaving small stinging cuts.
He darted along her back even as she snapped around to get him off, fury in her eyes.
He swiped at her face, one more time, careful not to do too much harm. He didn't want to be expelled. Not like his brother was.
Cackling wildly he started to make his escape. Only for pain to erupt, as another storkie stood on his tail. He yowled. Spinning around and trying to shove the attacker off him. He was too small though, his pitiful push doing nothing. Not until another storkie dived at the one standing on Ven's tail. Within moments it was carnage. So many young storkies fighting against one another, no one quite sure whose side they were on.
It was a battle. But it was also just the relief of bitter rivalries that had been going on far too long.
Ven was right in the center of it, yowling and hissing and giving as good as he could. He didnt even realise that the fighting was starting to die down until he was lifted like a kit by the scruff of his neck. He worled, even as his body instinctively tried to go limp, and just before his claws met fur he stopped. It was his mother, one of the teachers looking highly disapointed in him.
"Sorry Mum." He whispered, looking out onto the carnage. Wondering if this is how his brother had felt when he too caused fights. His mother just sighed, hoping she could pretend it wasnt her kitten who caused the mess.
