Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Some might say it's the unique spots, others fear the sheer power of the giraffe marking itself as it has the power to end time and space . Only speaking about it comes with eternal risks. Combining it with other desastrous markings could even bring the apocalypse. After all, nothing is as powerful and destructive as the almighty giraffe pattern, especially when it collides with other high white markings covering parts of the holy spots. Noone shall touch the holy spots with bare bands. Artists fear those patterns especially, as one unworthy placed or shaped spot may enrage the giraffe gods and themselves might send the eight plague down to earth - having to draw giraffe spots until the end of time! Well, to be fair, the end will be not far at this time, since nothing can sooth the giraffe gods once they were angered. Oncethe first giraffe Trotter is summoned, it will be the giraffe god for eternity, leading their herd of divine giraffe trotters among the holy lands. So creating more giraffe trotters is a duty to praise our allmighty giraffe overlord. All Range Trotter artists shall come together annually to draw spots to please the almighty, graceful giraffe god on their throne. I, an unworthy artist myself, lay down my pen to ask for mercy from this godly being. May it lay their spotted blessing upon all of us. I promise to take upon me the quest to draw giraffe trotters, whenever the divine being calls to me. *bows down *
