"Now how in the world do you expect me to believe that you found a kit from outside of Empyra laying next to the fountain? You do know that the walls around here are far too high for anyone to get through, especially a child." Conifen frowned at her brother's words, not exactly because she felt attacked by them, but because she knew full well that he was correct. Nobody got in or out of Empyra without help or at least acknowledgement by the guards, and certainly if a kit were to wander in she would have known about it already, She was a healing storkie, it was her job, and with the lack of any real love storkie in the position of nurse, she was supposed to know about every child of Empyra as well. "Well, perhaps they're a gift from the stars- especially if they ended up near the fountain of the leadership building, some sort of sign perhaps." Deciden rolled his eyes at this, making a comment with his brow raised. "Oh yeah? A sign of what, more kittens falling from the sky?"

Conifen sighed, looking at the small kit and watching them snuggle into the pillow they were laid upon. "Well, I suppose if they aren't a sign from the stars, they might just have found their way in without the guards noticing somehow. Though a kit this young... no, perhaps not that now that I think of it." She thought for a good moment, only for her brother to blurt out a possibility. "Maybe someone smuggled them in here." Well, that would be a rather obvious answer wouldn't it- after all, it's not as if someone couldn't have snuck in a kit this small inside of a bag or in a large scarf. Conifen couldn't imagine a guard or hunter taking home a child only to leave it at the fountain, however...but perhaps that was simply a fault on her part. "Maybe someone here found them while they were out, and ditched them near the fountain so someone who could take care of them could find them." Deciden continued, and Conifen seemed to want to argue, say that nobody would ever do such a thing, but she knew better. She knew that Empyra was the kind of place where that was acceptable, admirable even. After all, they didn't know what magic this child held, and if it wasn't one that the Empyrian system was kind to... well, whoever cared for the kit might run into some trouble, to say the least.

Not Conifen though. After all, this was her job- and she was expected to do it. "Well, either way, I shall take care of them now." "What." Deciden said, supremely confused and concerned. "Pine, sis. I understand you want to be nice and all, but I don't know if you're entirely set up to raise a child." He explained, only for Conifen to perk up and smile. "That's why you're going to help! After all, you're an uncle now!" Deciden blinked once, and then twice, before sighing. He wasn't going to argue with that logic, and taking care of a kit might not be too bad... "So, any ideas for a name?" Deciden asked, only to watch his sister's expression soften, smiling towards the small kit in the room. "Fuente, for fountain. Seems fitting, yes?" Deciden nodded, but also gave out a laugh. "Yeah, sure works fine. Just remind me never to let you help me if I need a name for a kit of my own in the future."
