Forest had always hated Beta's Marsh. It was a place where he felt afraid. He wasn't afraid of the place itself, rather the feeling it gave him. It made him feel like something was always watching him. It made the hackles on his back raise with anxiety.

Forest heard a branch snap. As he turned, he was face to face with another Kynoisse. They were albino with 2 tails but yet had no other distinct traits. They were holding a pack of herbs strapped to their waist, as well as a rather odd-looking plant in their mouth.

"Mortal." it called to him, "come, follow me. it commanded. And Forest obeyed.

He was led into the eye of Beta's Marsh. When they stopped at the center of the marsh, Forest came face-to-face with a large oak tree, which looked to be hundreds of years old. He got shivers at the sight; he felt something familiar about it. He felt as though he knew it, like friends turned enemies.

When he turned around, the Kynoisse was gone.

Forest had ran home and never returned to Beta's Marsh.

He found it years ago, as a mere trainee. Of course doing ones work is important but... like, that's not any fun! Dash; presently named Twig was notorious for slacking off. But no one could make him do a thing if no one could catch him, and if no one told him off about it, then in theory he wasn't doing anything wrong! Well, at least that's what he told himself and his girlfriend as they swept off into the evening together.
Leaping, flying through the forest and laughing all the way, the two fastest kynoisse in the whole wood! It was beginning to get dark and they hardly looked where they were going, gazing into each others eyes. The forest caught them both with a well placed log and they tumbled down to the ground.
For a moment they paused, and considered that maybe it was time to head home and return to the rest of the pack, who was probably worried sick about them! Then at this thought they burst out laughing again, the pack was used to this sort of behavior from them.
The forest also seemed to share in their joy and mirth, maybe instead of telling them to head back it wanted them simply to rest here- because it was the most beautiful sight. Fireflies seemed to seep from the wood itself, glowing, glittering, dancing. It felt magical, no one said a thing, they both simply lay there in awe, watching the sight before them.
Hours passed, the bugs never tired, they danced 'till dawn. When the sun rose they twinkled out, one by one, just like the stars in the sky. Sleep deprived, too tired to run any longer it was a long trudge back to camp, the fact that they'd likely get yelled at upon return didn't help either...

To this day it is still their secret spot, he doesn't visit as much since she died- but the fireflies still dance every night.
Maybe someday he will trust someone enough to share this location, maybe not.
