For the leg/tail/face stripes, I use the pen tool on full opacity, with pen pressure for the line size only, and draw some stripes. Then I add a mask over the stripe layer and use the airbrush tool to "erase" the top part of the leg stripes, so they fade into the coat! (Sometimes I'll use the soft eraser tool in place of a mask if I need to merge the layer ever, since merging and masks.. don't work out well)

And while this wasn't part of your question, I'm guessing you're asking so you can draw Fallowpaw accurately? So here's how I do the ticking pattern as well:

I use the pen tool at full opacity (no pen pressure), max scattering (with pen pressure), and about halfway spacing. I scribble with that to cover the whole cat, and then use the soft eraser tool to erase the lower areas. Then I duplicate that layer, move the duplicate below the original, and apply a box blur (Effects -> Box blur -> 3 pixels and 1 iteration)! I reduce the opacity of the blurred layer (usually to around 30%), and that layer makes the cat's ticking look less messy. I also airbrush/watercolor the upper areas of the base color layer slightly darker too, otherwise the cat looks really flat
