Shannae has a deep appreciation for many plant types, especially plants that bear fruit, and she enjoys reaping the rewards of her garden as the seasons pass. However, her favorite flower isn't one that brings her a harvest. Lilacs have always caught Saa's attention more than any other plant, and they often give her a sense of calm and clarity by just being nearby. The intricate folds of the petals and deep contrast of a stunning color intrigue Saa, as though the flowers are a natural work of art.

Her bias could also partly be attributed to some memories from her early childhood. Saa was born on a farm and helped care for the lands with her family for many years, starting about as early as she can remember. Her parents often talked of the crops as if they had their own identities, so she came to develop a habit of humanizing flora, talking to plants and giving them names. Just off the west end of the farm were fields of contested ownership, and Saa was told not to explore them due to the property disputes at the time. However, everything else she'd learned up until then led her to go exploring regardless.

Sitting against a tree, she would watch the winds shift through the tall grass and overgrown flowers.
A thought came to mind.
The lilacs seemed so still, so silent, yet so alive... as though they were fulfilled as they simply existed.
It was a strangely humbling thought.

Despite her name, azalea trees aren’t her favorite. Azalea really loves mint plants. She loves the tiny little flowers that grow with it.
She loves the scent of the mint. It makes her feel calm and in charge, something she doesn’t feel very often in her life. She plucks the leaves to make her favorite mint tea. Azalea also loves the way it grows. Mint plants grow up and out, and can easily take over a garden if not planted correctly. Azalea feels isolated a lot, and she likes the way her favorite plant has to be isolated too.

congratulations, zailune, for winning this bleub! the story you told for saa was lovely, with the humble realization at the end really catching my attention and pulling everything together. i'm excited to see this Saa's story developed more, and hopefully see her around the community!
