when barbossa was a wee lad, he tried to climb a tree. it was a short oak tree that split at the bottom. he believed that he could do it, as he had seen his mother do it. but when he reached the trunk and stood on two legs, his front paws could barely reach the split. his mom laughed in joy, and had helped push him up. but he was determined to do it by himself. so, over the course of three days, he continued to push himself and to find ways to get up the tree. barbossa didn’t exactly know what he would do once he got up the split, as there was still a whole tree to climb, but he would tackle that obstacle when he came to it. finally, on the third day, he was able to heave his tiny body up the trunk. his mother came by twenty minuted later to find him stuck in the split, but with the happiest grin on his face.

For a while he just sat and watched his siblings play, sad he couldn't join the fun. One day Skelly decided he would be able to run and play with his siblings. Everyday Skelly ran to the best of abilities and he kept overcoming the fear that he wouldn't be able to join his siblings in the fun. Overtime his legs became stronger allowing him to run and play with his siblings, but he still wobbles when he walks or runs but that doesnt stop the cheeky pup from living life to the fullest

Matthias-Random dog I yonked into this

When Matthias chose to go out on Halloween night one year ago, he certainly did not expect to find Exo sobbing in the woods not too far from his little cottage.
Exo stood awkwardly a few feet away from the brown and green wolf, blinking in surprise and looking around. Perhaps there was somebody--nope. No one was there. Yup, this guy was alone, and Matthias was willing to bet all his worldly possessions that the guy was lost, too.
So it was with a soft sigh that Matthias (reluctantly) walked over to the other dog and very gently, very slowly, put a hand on his shoulder. "Uh... There, there?"
As you can see, Matthias was obviously a master at comforting people.
The other dog gave a not-so-manly squeak of fear and leaped forward, tripping over his paws and landing face-first on the ground before him, causing Matthias to flinch. That had to hurt. The other male whirled around quickly, lower lip jutting out and tears staining his cheeks. "H-who are you?" he called loudly, trying to sound intimidating and ultimately failing.
Matthias blinked and stepped forward, dipping his head in greeting. "My name is Matthias," he said softly, as not to scare the taller dog. "I mean no harm by coming through here; I was simply passing through, and... Well, I found you sitting here, and...yeah..."
The taller dog sniffled pathetically and lifted up his chin, looking at Matthias directly. "...I'm Exo," he said quietly, letting his gaze trail off to the side.
Matthias smiled gently to Exo, bowing slightly in acknowledgement. "Well then, Exo," he said, "it's a pleasure to meet you. Now, what are you doing out here all alone?"
At the question, Exo flinched and looked down, tears brimming his eyes. Just as Matthias noticed this and was about to apologize, Matthias spoke quietly.
"...I got separated from my family while we were moving, and... I'm kinda lost, and I don't know where to go..." he whimpered sadly.
"Oh my, I'm terribly sorry to hear that," Matthias said, pouting his lips as he thought for a moment. After what seemed like hours of waiting for a reply, Matthias heard the shorter dog say, "I'm aware that we just met and all, but... Well, if you'd like, you could stay with me? It's surely better than sitting out here in the cold, I'd say"

Exo overcame his fear of speaking up.
