Partner Collab Contest! Griffin and I have made two collies that are... well, we're not sure! So, it's up to you to show us these collies' relationship! Are they friends, rivals, in love, siblings, or something else?

For this contest, you'll need a partner! One partner will be the "starting" one, and they will post the first half of the entry on the dog they are individually trying out for. The other partner will be the "finishing" one, and they will post the second half of the entry on the dog they are individually trying out for.

To begin, give these collies names that somehow relate to one another. It can be obvious (eg, fire and ice) or subtle (like wind and ice, which are both elements) but you must be able to explain how they relate unless it's very obvious!

Then, each partner must write a minimum of 250 words or submit a colored drawing of some sort! Additionally, the two pieces should create one complete entry, meaning they should not show two completely separate stories.

Years had passed since their childish bickers and squabbles. Both Romulus and Remus have since grown into stunning adult collies.

”Remus you white tiger knock-off! You cheated in the race!”
“I didn’t, you underbaked brownie!”

However, age never meant that they grew in maturity. They just got bigger.
Those two still never saw eye-to-eye even after hanging around the other for literal years. Everything between them had to be a competition. Whatever discipline they competed in, the other would do their best to one-up them. The sweetest victory was always the ones when they beat the other by just a hair. Oh the frustrated look on his rival’s face brought absolute delight to the other.

Despite their obvious distaste for the other, they actually have a lot in common. Romulus and Remus enjoy the same discipline, food and even interests, which was why they were always able to constantly compete with the other. Romulus never grew out of his puppyhood of being the hot-headed sharp-tongued collie. Remus never grew out of his equally terrifying sharp-tongue but Remus was always the slightly calmer one.

It is honestly a rare sight to see one without the other and truth be told, the other collies actually find it odd to see them so quiet when the other isn’t around. Romulus would still be chatty and interact with other collies but his tone was much friendlier and he was a lot milder. Remus on the other hand, becomes a bit more reserved, usually relaxing under a tree or just idling around.

Despite their rivalry, they still care about one another deeply because they both know that no other collie knows them quite like the other but they’d rather die than utter those words out. When Remus had a sprained ankle, Romulus was extremely concerned but tried not to show it too much (lies, he did). He was constantly by Remus’ side and would help him get food or water and kept him company the other time but of course, he’d always take a jab at Remus who happily retorted back. When Romulus was down with colic, Remus was there to keep him company with the same treatment as well.

When they’re not at each other’s necks, Romulus and Remus are like old dogs. They can be found under a tree talking and reminiscing about their puppyhood (they aren’t even that old tbh).
“Heh. Remember that time when you tripped over a rock and landed into the water dish?”
“Oh oh! There was that other time when you got chased by a chicken.”
“You cried like a baby when a duck pecked you.”
“Yeah? You ran with your tail tucked on your first duck herding trial.”
“You wanna go? I’ll show you who’s afraid.”
“Yeah? Can’t wait. I hope the ducks give you a hard time.”

Those downtimes never last long but it was always interesting to hear what they were talking about.

Sun nodded her head at the opportunity, Dream's owner was known to carry around the nicest smelling treats in the competition. 'You've done well, in your training, the last we competed I just pulled ahead but you've certainly shown me what talent and hard work can accomplish" Sun looked a bit defeated, she wasn't used to loosing let alone coming to a tie, though she knew if it had to be any collie that would best her, it would be dream. Sun ate up the treats with Dream, as Sun's owner came to congratulate Dream and her owner on the tie. Sun looked on at her grey coated counterpart and smiled, Dream had an aura what Sun hadn't felt before, since whenever they would meet would be in a high stake competition and the stress of it all set the dogs in only working mode. "The end of this showing season is coming up now, maybe we can stay in practice together? After all, I need to learn more of your tricks so I can beat you next time" Sun said with a smile, picking up on Dream's friendly aura "I feel like we could be good friends out of competition" A Smiling Sun said to Dream, after this final competition of the season, Dream and fire would meet each other numerous times in agility halls and visiting training grounds, Sun would always bring a toy to share with Dream, which was unusual for Sun, who didn't even like to share the spotlight, let alone a prized, slobber covered ball! The two of them quickly went from being rivals to being good friends. But when the sound of the starting bell went off, both dogs quickly switched to work mode and completely focused on the course and their handlers but the only difference being, they didn't want to beat each other anymore, but show the other how much progress they have made, and the things they learned from each other.
