Prompt: Write a story about this collie's first love. Did the deny or embrace the feeling? Was it a disaster, or are they still with them to this day? You may tell it in past or present tense. Minimum 200 words, no max. Extras are allowed (eg. music, art) Thane grew up on a small ranch, neighboring another. While he was a pup, he would run between the two ranches during the day, goofing off from his work. The other ranch had more dogs, whereas is only had his parents and littermates. Even then, once his littermates were old enough, many were being sold off. But Thane ignored this, and easily dodged it, by disappearing over to this other ranch to play with these other dogs. One being Tavish, (if I was to get them, would be
This collie.) who, in personality, was completely opposite of Thane. Thane was bold, loud, could never keep his paws on the ground. He had to be moving at all times, taking risks, slacking off. Tavish was quiet, collected, and was born to follow rules. The two did not get along at first, Tavish was constantly annoyed with Thane's inability to listen or follow simple instructions. But over time, they grew on each other. Thane was the chaos that Tavish craved, and Tavish was the stability Thane needed.
They got along quite well, often being seen together. Tavish would allow himself to slack off or relax more, but would keep Thane in line as well. Things were good, for awhile.
For most of their interactions, things had been on a strictly Friendship basis, Thane never thinking past that, or that it was possible with Tavish and how withdrawn he could be. But, before he could figure out, or fully embrace his feelings, Thane was sold from the Ranch. They were moving and selling their ranch, as well as their dogs. He was moved before he could properly say goodbye, and sent to a Ranch that was a few hour drive away, so quite difficult for him to come back.
Thane was devastated, and became withdrawn and quiet, sulking around this new place despite what his new owners, and the other dogs, tried to do. This new ranch was huge, with so much more to do and explore than his last home, but it wasn't the same without Tavish. They had both practically grown up together, and after being moved, Thane realized how much Tavish meant to him.
Months went by while he was in this state, until Tavish one day, showed up on the ranch, Thane's new owners having talked to Tavishs' to work out buying him as well, after finding out how close they had been.
Thane easily embraced his feelings for Tavish, and the two have been absolutely inseparable ever since.
