Euphorian Thoroughbreds are a rare string of the Thoroughbred breed. They come from a single farm simply called “Euphoria” that has horses with mutated genes. These allow them to be able to possess any realistic coat or markings, but otherwise, they share the same long, strong legs, powerful hind, and great speed of ordinary Thoroughbreds. They can grow from 15hh-18hh, though usually are somewhere in the middle.
The horses readopted through the Euphorian Retired Racehorse Project are looking for a new loving home and a new job. They’ve tried racing and have either retired or decided the sport wasn’t for them. Either way, they are ready for the next chapter in their life. Pick how your Euphorians move forwards!

It seems that I knew love intimately the moment of my first breath. No, not from my mother, whom I knew loved me dearly, or from my aunties and protectors; no, love stronger than the bones that build me stood rooted to the earth before me, gazing down at me with eyes darker than the most fertile soil with wonder, astonishment, and the most pure sense of adoration.

Our thread of fate lifted me on wobbly legs that day. She has arrived to this world not even a week prior to mine, yet I knew she held the weight of my heart on her freckled shoulders, my soul embraced in the red threads of our entwined futures. She was sunlight and rain, snow and fallen leaves; and through all of her seasons she always remained beautiful.

Though our thread was cut far too soon, I still remember vividly, each strand of hair, my reflection in her eyes, and the warmth of her breath on my shoulders. We grew to be inseparable, even through our youth and up until we were old enough to forge our own paths. Hers, more rigorous and mine soft and sweet; something for her to come home to.

She passed suddenly, a terrible racing injury rendering her helpless and unable to go on. I lost her that day and my everything along with her.

I think of her often, wondering if I’ll ever find love as soft and easy as she was. Love that needed no words, only soft touches and knowing glances. A love that began the moment my eyes opened.

xxxxeloise always thought love would be easy. she'd grown up listening to other fillies talk about the colts they had a crush on at one moment or the next. however, she never truly joined in on this discussion, as she didn't have much to contribute. she never quite understood what it meant to be in love; having a crush was a foreign concept. in hindsight, it now made much more sense as to why she felt this way.

xxxxit all started on a fateful summer morning, the sun ablaze in the cobalt sky and the birds singing a merry song. eloise wasn't exactly paying attention to the conversation taking place in front of her. instead, she was daydreaming about the tiny baby frogs which hopped around at her hooves, their squishy little selves living their best lives in the dew-coated grass. she was abruptly knocked out of her daydream world by a nudge. a bay filly by the name of epona seemed to be trying to get her attention. this was a rare occurrence, as the other fillies didn't often seek her opinion on the topics they discussed. this time, she was in for a surprise.

xxxxepona rolled her eyes, amused, as eloise shook the wisps of thoughts about baby frogs from her head and stuttered a "y-yes?" the other filly giggled and repeated what she had previously asked: "who do you have a crush on?" ah. that was what they were talking about. epona's heart skipped a beat from being put on the spot. she didn't know what it felt like to have a crush, much less who she had one on. her eyes darted across to the pasture where the colts resided, searching for an easy way out of the question. she locked eyes with one of the colts she happened to have talked to once or twice. "... mac." a chorus of 'oooo's errupted from the other fillies. her eyes widened upon realizing what she just did. now they were going to bother her about this so called 'crush' and wouldn't leave her alone until she acted on it, whatever that entailed.

xxxxshe was, indeed, correct on this assumption. the fillies spent every moment they could bugging her, trying to get her to open up more to them. at one point, one of them even went up to mac, and she was almost certain that she mentioned a certain 'crush,' as she could sense more than one pair of eyes staring in her direction. eloise didn't know what to do. she had expected this whole thing to blow over once she gave them a name, not realizing that it would be that big of a deal. apparently, however, it was vital information to the other fillies. it didn't take long for her to realize that she was, again, correct. the filly had definitely told mac.

xxxxthe conversation she'd had with mac afterward was quite embarrassing. he was incredibly understanding, though. he had laughed when told the story of what had happened there and been sympathetic when hearing how pressured she felt. she felt so comfortable around him that she even mentioned how she didn't really understand crushes anyway. mac looked at her curiously and voiced a term eloise had never heard before: 'ace.' she asked him to explain what he meant and he told her that being ace was basically not liking anybody in that way. this was the moment of realization: you didn't have to like someone to be valid. you could like whoever you wanted or you could like no one at all. that explained why she didn't quite understand the conventional definition of love or the concept of a crush: she was on the ace spectrum.

xxxxshe became very close friends with mac after that incident. he had helped her discover who she is and she wanted to be there for him just the same. he was very sweet and they easily grew very close, but only as friends. <3
