About them:
One, and, two, and--
The sound of the bell above the door ringing caused them to startle, losing their footing and stumbling to the ground. Vienna gave a huff as they pushed themself up to their feet. “Give me a minute, please!”
They quickly brushed themself off before they made their way to the front desk, tail flicking behind them. “Hello! Apologies for the wait. How can I help you?”
The customer at the desk explained their situation, and Vienna gave a nod. They sifted through their desk for a moment or so before they fished something out, holding it out to the client. “This should help you with what you need.”
The customer took it, dropping a bag of coins on the counter before taking their leave, the bell above the door ringing again.
Vienna had a rough time recollecting how they had come into ownership of the shop they worked at. Some times they thought they’d inherited it from an old family member, while other times it felt more like it had been a curse they had to bear. Each time they thought about it, the reason seemed to change, ever so slightly.
They opted to not think too deeply about it.
Within the confines of their shop was an array of enchanted and magical items, most of which Vienna had no clue how to use - they had a guide about what each thing did, sure, although they never really felt the whim to try to use any of their goods. Their purpose was clear, to provide the items found within their shop to others, for a cost - these items were said to be the cure to any problem, and many folks were willing to shell out the cost in order to deal with them.
Vienna knew that if they were not the one running the shop, then someone else would - that much was clear to them, and they knew in their mind that when the time came, they would hand the shop down to someone else, with an ever shifting reason as to why.
They wouldn’t think too deeply about that.
