    Answer:
Alecks was out in the field, playing with sticks. He loved having them thrown, and retrieving them, but sometimes he played alone. He would chew on the sticks, and toss them about. He went to grab a nearby twig, but started barking in surprise when it moved, before he'd even touched it!
The stick looked a bit weird, now that he'd taken another look... This stick had legs! And it smelled funny!
The stick swayed back and forth, as if taunting him. He continued to bark at it. This was no stick, this was a stick insect!
It still looked great to play with, though... But maybe his big jaws might break the fake stick before even being able to play with it. He gave it one last sniff before running off to find a stick for suitable for tossing about.

Name: Dalt
Gender: Male
Answer: Dalt was relaxing at the shade of a tree, the warm weather of spring already made him feel a bit sleepy at midday. He lowered his head to rest when a sudden scent filled his smell. He didn’t matter much about it at first, but soon, as the smell seemed to become stronger and persist, he decided to open his eyes, quickly stepping back in surprise, letting out a loud bark.
“What was that?!”
Dalt looked at the insect with curiosity, unsure of how to react or interact with it. He slowly moved his paw towards it, and then the insect jumped! It flew until land on his side, thing that made him jump to avoid him! Dalt snarled at the grasshopper and ran towards his owner, who was looking at him with confusion.
The human laughed so hard when the dog came whining in search of help and gently grabbed the grasshopper without harming it, letting the dog see the little friend he did. Dalt tilted his head and came closer, moment when the insect jumped on Dalt’s forehead. The dog blinked a couple times before the insect finally decided to leave, “flying” away and leaving a confused Dalt behind, who barked as a goodbye to the green new friend he seemed to do. Dalt would then look better before laying down on the grass, just in case one of “those jumpy green things” got on him again.

    Answer:

It was a warm summer day. The birds were chirping, the flowers were blooming and, oh gosh, that racket!
A loud whirring buzz, what an abhorrent sound. It came from the trees, but trees didn't make noise. Curious, Amber navigated her way to the forest. The examine the trees, looking for the source of this sound to find a large bug. She squealed at first, the bug was bigger that she had anticipated. What a horrible creature.

She gathered her courage, and went back up to the bug. It was still emitting the ear-piercing sound. It hurt her ears, but Amber just had to get a good read on it, for science. Amber is the kind of dog that needs to know everything, no matter what. Her curiosity often gets the best of her, like the time she disturbed a wasp. Not fun. She learned her lesson, and got her answer, don't bother a wasp at work.

Suddenly, the bug left the tree, and landed square on her nose. She panicked, not only because she honestly hated bugs, but also because of the noise. She shook herself to try and get it off, and ran away. She ran back home, hoping she left the bug behind. She slowed down, and luckily the bug had fallen off. She had never been more scared of a bug, and would have rather been stung.

Name: Desert Harbor's Renegade Trooper || Finn
      Gender: Male
      Answer:
Finn is special lad.. most of the time when he sees a new critter or bug, he's the first collie to tuck his tail and scamper off. Last night was a different story. I was heading out to serve our collies dinner, just as I always do, and that's when I heard it. All of our collies were barking up a storm. They sounded like those rubber chickens you see in those funny videos, the ones that scream when you squeeze 'em! It was horrifyingly hilarious... and annoying.

So I hurried on in to the kennels and whistled as loud as I could. As much as I love our collies, they can be little rascals! Lucky for me, the barking nearly ceased to exist apart from our gal Rey. She kept barking at her kennel wall, and at first I thought she had gone mad, that was until I realized that Finn's kennel was on the other side of that wall.

What had poor little Finn gotten into? When I stepped in front of his kennel, his big ol' puppy eyes stared up at me as he wiggled like a worm. All of that barking was because of sweet Finn? Oh no, nono. The barking was caused by what Finn had in his kennel. When I looked back at Finn, that's when I noticed a light chirping noise. I was baffled, could dogs really make that noise? The answer is no, they can't chirp, but do you know what can? A cicada.

Our Finn had trapped a cicada in his mouth. Believe it or not, earlier that day Finn ran like no other when a butterfly landed on him. How in tarnation was a butterfly scarier than a cicada? I guess I'll never figure that out.

What was the one thing that really, really, baffled me? Oh that's easy! When Finn swallowed it.

Name: NBC's Zaddiko Tea Co. 'Tea'
Gender: Male
Answer: Tea dipped his head and looked down at the strange bug. It was a big fat one, it's shell shiny and teal in color with a large horn protruding from its face. What in the world was it? Cocking his head to the side, Tea's ears flopped over his eyes and his fuzzy fur tickled his nose. With a mighty sneeze and shake of his head, Tea sent the little beetle bug sprawling over the ground. Now the poor critter was tipped on its back, tiny legs flailing in the air. Tea lifted a delicate paw and tipped the beetle back over, then leapt back in surprise as it spread its wings to fly. Goodbye little beetle bug!

Answer: while waiting outside for his human to finish getting ready for their walk, bruce noticed that weird animal walking over the pavement. can you eat it? bruce tried to eat it but it was too small and the insect ran faster to try and get away. did it think it was faster than him? bruce tried to catch it, his nose kissing the pavement every time he tried to get that critter into his mouth. it was quite frustrating that he couldn't catch it even though it seemed so weak! the insect soon disappeared in the ground, making bruce tilt his head in visible confusion. where did it go to? seemed like he had to accept his defeat.

Name: Pharaoh
Gender: Male
Answer:

To this day, Pharaoh still vividly recalls the first time that he ever saw a bumblebee sting someone. It wasn't him, thank goodness, or he would probably hate them to this day. It was his human while she was gardening. She must have upset the bee while it was pollinating flowers because it gave a loud buzz and then stung her on the hand.

He expected her to be scared, or maybe even possibly angry at the little buzzing creature (which is how he imagined that he would have felt) but instead she softly cradled the little insect until it stopped buzzing. When its movements ceased, a single tear slipped from her eye.

"I'm so sorry, little creature," she whispered to it, and that was when Pharaoh realized that the bee had died, despite no one having laid a hand on it. It had given its life to protect itself, its fellow bees, and the flowers that they relied upon for their very lives. He couldn't imagine how much courage that tiny insect must have had in order to sacrifice its life in such a manner.

From that day forth, in honor of the tiny bee, Pharaoh vowed to face adversity with bravery. On sunny days, when the flowers are out, he sits and sniffs them from a distance with his sensitive nose, enjoying their scent without upsetting the bees that buzz among them.

Answer: Neo is infatuated with all insects so it came to nobody's surprise that when he saw one unknown to him he would stop dead in his tracks and place his nose close to the floor tracking the little creature carefully with wonder in his eyes and his tail swinging slowly behind him, it is difficult for him to stop following the creature however, so he usually has to be picked up until it is out of his eye sight.
