Maltese Retrieving Hounds are a cross between the Pharaoh hound and the Labrador Retriever. Originally bred to hunt in packs, they are mostly used in shows and sport hunts nowadays.

Dancer’s current best friend is the neighbour’s cat. Their relationship did not start off too well. The mature cat wasn’t happy about a puppy suddenly entering their territory. It made a lot of noise, tried to chase the poor cat’s tail and scared away all the birds. The cat saw Dancer as a nuisance for a long time, but after a couple of months when the pup matured and grew up a little, it has proven to be useful. No stray cat would come anywhere near their yard, meaning that the old cat no longer had to fight for his terrain. It got used to the dog and they started spending more time together and their friendship bloomed. They learnt to cooperate and help each other out. The cat will push off tasty treats off the table for Dancer to eat and in return Dancer barks at squirrels for the cat’s entertainment.

Why do they like them?: Savannah loves chasing her ducks around the yard and rounding them up! Though it can be annoying for the ducks, they've become bonded with Savannah and even chill with her on hot sunny days in the kitty pool. Savannah would never admit it but she is very protective and caring for them, especially the ducklings which climb all over her!
