Bacardi had never been one for the fabled Valentines Day - it all seemed superficial and he never got to enjoy the visual displays off affection that other collies seemed to enjoy so much. Honestly he felt left out and let down by the whole experience and instead of finding a way to enjoy it, Bacardi instead chose to spend his V-Day in his kennel and trying not to listen to the happiness and love around him. This pattern of behaviour was until he met Jester - like Bacardi, Jester lacked some of the senses the other collie possessed but instead he could somewhat see the beauty of decorations and rather enjoyed the day it self whether he was 'in love' or not.
Bacardi and Jester became friends slowly and surely over the span of many months; with Bacardi's more reserved and 'survivor' personality and Jesters loud and energetic one the pair soon began to bring out the others more hidden qualities. Due to the opposing impairments being Bacardi's complete blindness and Jesters complete deafness, one would assume communication between the pair was all but obsolete. This was rather false.

Despite having the impairments she did; Akari always enjoyed Valentine’s Day. She loved the warmth and exciting energy the day brought on. Some would even beg to differ it was her most favorite holiday. You know the saying never the bride, but always the bridesmaid? Yea that was unfortunately Akari. She was never really chosen to be anyone’s valentine. But she was never truly bothered by it. Akari knew she had her owners love and that’s all she really needed. Until that is she joined BBR kennels... Poor poor Dionysus had learned what love at first sight really was when he was introduced to Akari. He had pondered and and worked so hard on a way to tell the female just how much he truly loved her despite being different. He felt hopeless until Valentine’s Day came, and the most perfect master plan came into action. To Akari it was just another Valentine’s Day, making rounds around the kennels and giving everyone their special treats. Prancing like a little deer she made it to Dionysus’s kennel and had opened her mouth to say something but she became stuck. The energy she felt this time was different . She could tell there was anxiety and fear floating in the surrounding air and what’s that smell...flowers? What could be going on?? In front of this little lady stood a severely nervous Dionysus. With his cowlick of fur wetted back, a black bow tied collar and a bundle of freshly picked flowers sitting in his jaws. “Oh Dionysus, what’s going on? Why do I smell my favorite flower??” Akari started in. Sitting the flowers down, Dionysus cleared his throat to begin. “Akari, ever since you were brought to the kennels here I have-*cough* ehem, um sorry. Let me begin again. *deep inhale* Akari ever since-“ she cut him off with a big lick on his cheek and giggle. “Oh Dionysus, you big silly ol lug. I’m not sure what’s gotten into you but it’s just me!” The males heart melted with her kiss. You could almost see him melt like how a cartoon character did. All anxiety and fear was swept away by courage. He was determined to tell her how he felt. “ Akari, ever since you walked through these doors. You have completely stolen my heart. And rightfully I’d like for you to keep it in exchange for yours.... Akari, Will you be my Valentine now and forever?” It was almost like word vomit, he couldn’t control his mouth. His heart was in the lead. Akari stood stunned for a moment, almost wishing she had some type of vision to see what was actually going on. Someone wanting her to be their Valentine’s? Not just for a prank, but for real and for forever? “Dionysus, I- I have no words to say. I mean I’ve never been asked that before I-...” she stumbled with what to say. Dionysus walked up to her and placed his nose apon hers. “All you have to say is yes..” he calmly said. The females heart just about burst with love and joy. She gave a huge grin. “Yes.. I’ll be your Valentine for now and forevermore” Akari could have almost sworn the whole day was a dream but in fact it was not. She had finally experienced a day in which she thought she never would. That day would come to become her most favorite day ever.

Doggy Macarons, cupcakes and chocolates and some pawsecco, Aphrodite can't see but her smelling abilities were second to none, She knew Arya by scent and her tail wagged whenever she was near. Aph and Arya went on a walk on the kennel grounds soon after, because of Aph's vision and hearing problems, Arya guides her around, even on pack walks Arya constantly carries Aph's lead in her mouth, they are two peas in a pod and this day was no different.

Story: It was an early morning and Casanova snoozed away. The sweet boy's favorite crown toy was securely tucked between his paws while he snored quietly. He couldn't hear the commotion around him so he was fast asleep with his belly facing the sky.. until the smell of peanut butter wafted into his nose. He knew what this was. The scent of peanut butter and sweet potato dog treats. Casanova flipped over with a bit of a struggle as he got caught in his blanket and wiggled into the kitchen area, his crown in his mouth. Eventually, after bumping into a misplaced chair or two, his nose guided the adventurer to the kitchen where the smell of peanut butter whirled from the table. This was now his entire world. The only thing he knew. The sweet medley of peanuts and sweet potato. His squeaky crown dropped to the ground. Quickly he leapt up on a chair and snuck a few, that were still warm from the oven, and he took off. Little did he know, he soon was followed by his owner but he gobbled his stolen treat down. He sat, ears perked with a big smile on his jaws, wagging his perfect little tail. (204)

Icee had never had a special someone for Valentine's day before, but yesterday Kinder came over and asked if she'd like to spend the evening with him. She was absolutely ecstatic. Kinder had always been patient and kind with her, and he smelled bright and woodsy.
Icee carefully made her way to the room where Kinder waited, using her whiskers and sense smell to find him and avoid any obstacles in her path. Kinder was waiting on a soft blanket on the floor. She sat next to him and shyly wagged her tail. She sensed him move away, but a second later he came back with a box and pressed it against her side. It was cold and smelled oddly metallic, so she moved away, but he pressed his nose against her muzzle, telling her everything was okay. He slid the object against her again and suddenly, she could feel vibrations pulsing against her fur. Kinder had brought a boombox to her and was playing music! Icee felt overjoyed, having never been able to hear music, only faintly, this was an amazing experience to be able to feel it instead, much more vividly. Kinder moved a little closer to her so that their fur was touching, and they sat together, and listened to and felt the music, respectively, for the rest of the night.

Story: zelda laid curled up on the fluffy carpet in front of the fireplace, the warmth making her feel comfortable and secure, but also really sleepy. she might be deaf in one ear, but her ears twitched and perked up when she heard the paws of another dog approach her. the dog let out a yawn and sniffed the air, recognising the familiar scent of her dearest friend and partner nimbus. the male dog laid down next to her, cuddled close to her warmer body and affectionately licked her nose and fur. zelda sighed contently, nimbus was her everything and she loved him dearly, he completed her. the ability to see wasn't given to her, but his eyesight made up for it and he always guided her way and made sure she didn't accidently walk into an obstacle out of excitement over something. in return, because nimbus was bilaterally deaf, zelda tried to help him with that, nudging him whenever his name was called even though she couldn't hear too well herself due to being deaf in one ear.
the couple laid together for a little while, showering each other with some love until zelda felt nimbus get up, the sudden lack of warmth next to her making her shiver slightly. she thought he left her again, but he gently nudged her shoulder, a sign that she should get up and so she did, rising to her paws and stretching her tired limbs. nimbus went off to somewhere, slowly to make it able for the female to easily follow him. they went into another room, zelda heard their handler open a door for them, causing her to be immediately engulfed with the mouth-watering smell of cookies. her tail waggled in excitement, she knew nimbus never disappointed, especially not on valentine's day. she didn't need to have the ability to see to know that those cookies she smelled were for the two of them to enjoy, heart-shaped and the most delicious thing ever. she walked closer to the smell with her partner's guidance and laid down on the fluffy carpet next to him and he was quick to put a cookie in his mouth to give it to her. zelda loved valentine's day and she loved nimbus, both made her feel so appreciated and loved and boosted her confidence that she mostly lacked due to her blindness. the two enjoyed their snacks and alone time, cuddled with one another and fell asleep together. even though they didn't talk to one another because he couldn't hear and she couldn't see, nimbus never failed to make her feel so much joy like he did, she wouldn't know what she'd do if he wouldn't be by her side every day.
