The cold wind soared fiercely through my mane. I felt traces of moisture from the millions of little raindrops that fell like bullets from a machine gun. The sun was going down, and it was already cold enough. I didn't mind the rain, but freezing wind is another story. A white owl head told me to find a wishing pool. Whatever that was. Apparently, it was supposed to grant you greatest wish if you drank from its waters. Sounded like fake news to me, but it was my only chance. I never had anyone. The first time I opened my eyes, there was nobody. I was always alone. But the thought of this pool, fake or not, motivated me to search every end of the earth. My heart ached for someone. For a friend. If I didn't try, I would get nowhere in life. I have had
enough of nowhere.
So my journey began with a large tree I liked to call The Tree Of Beginnings. It was a majestic sight. The huge trunk was as big as a small town. It had thousands of giant branches protruding from the middle of the trunk, and up. Orange, yellow, red, and green leaves shimmered in the wind like glitter. Each leaf were as large as my paw or bigger. Being in the presence of this tree was one of my biggest honors. Right at the base of the tree, towards the middle, was a gaping wide opening. As I padded inside, birdsong of all kinds orchestrated from every nook and cranny. It was truly heavenly. Every animal you could imagine was there, inside The Tree of Beginnings. From carpenter ants to walruses, this place had it all. The inside seemed even bigger than the outside. Small moneys wielding arrowhead stones made beautiful carvings of a variety of scenes. There was one with a huge watering hole, and all kinds of animals drank the water in peace. It reminded me of the very tree it was carved in. Seeing the crevices of the carved water ripples made me thirsty, so I loped over to a small pond. Stepping in the water with my front two paws, I lapped up until I couldn't anymore. I stood there for a moment, soaking in the blissful silence. Small fish and tadpoles began to suck on the algae that was making its way onto my foot. A young tigress approached me curiously. "I've seen hippos and whales in my time here, but never have I seen anything like you before!" She exclaimed, walking around me and admiring my markings and unique tail. I was flattered. "Thank you!" I said gratefully. My thoughts went back to the wishing pool. I
had to focus. "Excuse me, but have you ever heard of the wishing pool?" I asked the tigress. Suddenly, the millions of chattering animal voices went silent. The tigress stared at me for a long moment. "Yes, the wishing pool belongs to the great tree that you are standing in this very moment." She said with regret in her tone. "Can you tell me where it is?" I asked desperetly. She stood there in silence, closing and opening her mouth as is she couldn't speak.
