This sweetheart was an unexpected find in a planned showdog litter. Since this kid couldn't really be considered for showing, they were sent to us to find them a good home.

Prompt -
Being a small dog, and all the mischief that comes with it, Storm walked freely through the shelter. A couple of people saw her but weren't sure what to do, so she just walked by them. She happily walked through the halls with no explanation as to how she got out. A few volunteers stopped to pet her, their attention caught by her nice gorgeous pelt. She had no intention of leaving, she just felt like showing off her colors. One cat hissed a complaint, "Show-off." A few murky glances from the two greyhounds informed her of something she confirmed when they murmured, "No wonder she was taken out of the show litter." She willingly ignored them, she didn't want to hear it. One pet was nice to her, a small chihuahua will a dark brown pelt. Her smile was uneven with crooked teeth. "Nice pelt," she said as she circled Storm. Storm felt herself lurch upward as an employee kindly said, "What are you two doing out here?"

Sitting in the room with adopters and adoptees exchanging glances, Storm sat and thought. A sneaky frown slid down her face. A couple of dogs laughed and chuckled in her direction. As her confidence sank, her true feelings soaked it in a black murky swap of dispair. She saw one cat picked up, its plain black pelt looked normal. No one assumed anything about that cat but when an adopter looked at her they assumed she had some sort of illness or behavioral problem, why else would such a pretty dog be here? Most dogs thought that it was a blessing to be so pretty, but she considered it a curse in disguise.
Bonus Prompt -
Storm hardly remembers her childhood. She remembers the others of her litter arguing about who would be the pick of the litter, but Storm ignored this loud argument and assumed that she would be the pick of the litter. She was the largest and had the most interesting coat, but she always knew that something was different about her. Originally she thought it was a good thing, she always has had an optimistic spark, but after she was separated from the group as person after person picked a pup, she realized that her optimism might have been out of place. Waiting with her mother, the breeder was on the phone, setting it down, pressing buttons, picking it up, repeating. The muddled words were in human speak, so she couldn't understand, but she knew that it wasn't going great by his face. She remembers her brief training, where she got her name, Storm, and when she learned how to sit, lay down, and come to her name. She also remembers having to leave her mother, and never seeing her again. Waiting for something powerful, something with meaning had gotten her nowhere so she changed her route and set sail towards the promising horizon of being adopted.

Mischief is Nothing: You may consider your previous pets mischievous, but after about a day with Storm, you will realize that what your pet did was easy to deal with. An escape artist without caring to escape, a keyboard pet, and she can somehow reach every light switch. If you put Storm in a crate or carrier, you better keep an eye on it, she will get out. Just like a cat, she will lay on your keyboard no matter what you are doing. Don't worry though, your house isn't haunted, she can just reach every light switch. I might suggest baby proofing your house before letting her out of your sight.

She isn't much of a trickster, more of a joker. She won't harm you, but she will give you a fright. If she accidentally does harm you, she feels bad about it for a long time. Sometimes, she doesn't even mean to be mischievous. She might be doing something, such as laying down, and the latch will come undone. She might be jumping with joy, and accidentally flip a switch.

Attention Hog: She always wants to be the center of attention, whether it is with guests or if it is just you. She will jump on your lap, she will bark until you pick her up, and, most annoyingly, will try to follow you when you leave. Leaving her alone is a bad idea, she will go nuts. She will tear up any possessions you leave in the same room with her, even her own toys and accessories. She is alright around other pets, but she greatly prefers human company.

Even around other pets, she begs for your attention. If she is alone with other pets, she will try to get their attention. This includes doing things like goofy dances, singing, and howling. She will rub against any legs if she sees potential for attention, human and pet legs. She plays with other dogs not infrequently but the game often spirals into a tag as the little Pomeranian tries to catch up.

Summer: Oh how Storm loves summer. The nice grass, the bright flowers, the sprinklers, the pools, everything. She will go nuts over water, she loves to swim and always stays very hydrated. She loves plants almost as much. She will roll in the grass until you'll have to groom her for hours to get the mud out. She loves to sit in the sun, just warming up like a solar panel, getting ready to run, so hold on to the leash on walks.

She is enthusiastic when she sees anything summer related. A dandelion, bright green grass, a summer sky, even if it is only a pattern on cloth. She especially loves her cloudy bed, her astroturf pad, and her squirrel toy. She loves chasing squirrels, and it may seem that she might catch it at some point, but the squirrel has always gotten away.

Scardy Cat: Storm acts confident, but she is terrified of many, many things. For example, she hates vacuums. Ironically, she also hates storms, the thunder will make her run and hide. Luckily, if you sit with her and pet her during any loud noise, she will choose your attention over running and hiding.

Eventually, she learned, as young children normally do, to go to her human for attention when she gets scared, even if it means going closer to the noise. When you are vacuuming, she will try to jump into your arms. She is adorable when she does this, and she has found that usually the vacuum gets turned off too.

Prompt - Val always felt she was unique, other pups said there was something off about her but she didn't notice. she didn't care. she was just so happy about how absolutely gorgeous her coat was. other dogs threw names at her but they were just jealous, jealous that Val was having the best life ever, though when she grew up she started getting very annoying. Yapping about how she was so beautiful. On every walk any dog that went by Val told them about her fur, humans cant understand dogs so they thought she was just being aggressive, because all they hear were loud barks. her owners started growing very sick of hearing barks all the time and she got kicked out. she was hungry and scared for 3 months until animal rescue found her hurt, and after a visit to the vet, Val was placed in SFA where i signed a form to adopt her ^w^. word count: 156
Bonus Prompt - she was born in the wild, her parents didnt raise her well and was found in a bush by a woman named Cristine When she was only 5 days old. Val was taken back to a house where 2 other people lived, an infant boy named Finn and the father named Nick. Val wasnt very careful with the baby and sometimes trampled it, but shes a fairly small dog, so it didnt hurt the little guy, but the parents were kinda worried about this and put her on a leash tied to a chair, things got real boring after that for like 2 weeks until she was able to be let outside, and she was very happy with this. Finn grew to be one year old. They were best friends but unfortunately Vals barking all night caused Finn to always wake up and cry for hours causing the parents to get no sleep, so threw her out of the house.
personality: Volcano is a very active dog, she yaps until you pay attention to her and she will get into a lot of trouble and if you tell her not to do something, she will turn around and to it in front of you. Though she is annoying as heck she is very lovable and snuggles you a lot, no one cant turn her puppy eyes down!

you’d think a pampered pooch like jako would love his coat, his delicately combed fur, his beautiful black and fawn coat. but no, he doesn’t. he hates the black splotches on his coat, he hates how he didn’t look like the rest of his siblings, all perfect, all solid fawn pups. all but one -his sister- teased him about his coat and his stained fur. he hates how when he was in his old owner’s presence that they talked about him as a runt. as a pup that wouldn’t be good for any shows. any shows! which, according to his mother, meant he was worthless.

he’s tried everything, jako. but he can’t find anything to cover up his coat.
so for now, he does nothing, and just whimpers when people pass him by.

“what are we going to do about him?” his eyes couldn’t see the human’s face, but could hear the tone of the woman’s voice. she didn’t like him at all.
“we can keep him!” jako noticed the sigh and shake of the woman’s head, even though he couldn’t see the outline, “why not?” the man asked.
“because he isn’t suitable for showing! we’re a show dog business! if he can’t earn his keep, why keep him?” jako whimpered, realizing that they were talking about him.
“well I’d like to keep him.”
“no! we’ll give him to a shelter or something, somewhere he’ll be safe.”
and that was jako’s first memory. a very very terrible memory.

Sasha sat quietly in the corner of her kennel, head down as she tried to make herself small. Her attempts to keep any and all attention away from herself utterly failed. People pointed in her direction and spoke to each other in front of her. "What a funky coat," "What's wrong with her?" "Is she sick?" All of these questions slowly started to irritate the small dog. It wasn't her fault that she looked like this! She hated it, she hated everything about herself. One particularly loud and snobby kid was yelling, sticking his hands into her cage. "Moooom! Look at this weird looking dog! Why won't she come up to me!? Fine dog, you're ugly anyway," Sasha snapped in that moment and lunged at the kid's hand, giving him a good and strong bite. The kid shrieked and yanked his hand away before he started to bawl his eyes out. The kid's mother and an employee came rushing over. "Don't stick your hands in cages Jacob!" The mother reprimanded the child, the employee wrapping his hand up with the first aid kit's gauze. Sasha shrunk back into her corner, no no no this was the end. Once the kid and mother had left, the employee turned to Sasha's kennel, opening it. She gently pet Sasha, taking the small speckled dog out of her kennel. She took her to what would usually be used for adoptions. She put Sasha on a pillow, the small dog didn't even bother getting up, staring blankly at the wall. (WIP)
