The orange crewmate!
(Choosing 'imposter' will change their shine to a knife instead.)
For this competition:
(Find someone to partner with for this one, the other kal can be whichever other Among us kal they wish. Your partner will be helping you on this and it will take precedence over their kalon's prompt question. If it is another partner kalon, you two can choose which prompt to do. Split the work between yourselves the best you can!) Which other kalon is their biggest rival? Why? Tell me about how their conflicts came to be.

Program initialized.
Start New Log? Affirmative.
Day 1: I can hear strange noises in the walls, and when I say strange, I mean STRANGE. I know this ship inside and out, better than my own home at this point, and these noises just aren't right. The rest of the crew thinks I'm crazy, imagining things. Missing Earth and hallucinating. But I know this is wrong.
Day 2: I KNOW I saw something. It was fast, not super fast or anything but... Quick, fluid. A learned movement, not natural. It was bright, maybe yellow... orange? I didn't see it long, so no details. It might have had fur... or was fuzzy somehow? I know I'm not crazy. I know what I saw. It was real. It disappeared so fast though, so nobody believes me… again.
Day 3: I found orange fur. Stuck in a vent. Just...Orange fur. None of us have orange fur!!! It's REAL. I showed my crewmates and they said it was just light red, probably came from me. It didn't. This is orange!!! Why won't they see? Something is here with us. I heard about this, back home. Aliens. They can take the form of those around them. And they kill. I have to figure this out soon.
Day 6: Been quiet. Too quiet. First the constant yet random noises, now... silence. My crewmates don't understand. I've been working in the vents, repairing breaks. There's more fur here. I keep showing them and they just... Don't see it. They really believe it's red. The noise is gone but my suspicions, my truths, are not.
Some of the last places you think to check are those that are out of sight. That's the mistake you make when you forget the world outside of what you see is still there, it still exists. I'll never forget that again.
-
Day 7: The noises and the fur tufts led me to thoroughly check the vents. Finally, I was going to find out who, or what, was crawling around in our home base. I would not tolerate this going on any longer than it has been! Absolutely not! It's OVER!
So... I went to check every vent opening I could easily access. I found lots of fur, and some odd things like bottle caps and empty bags and... what seemed to be shavings of metal? I didn't know, and I didn't have time to analyze the shavings, but it was really strange.
Then I heard another sound, a VERY loud one. Naturally, I went to check it out.
And...
WHUMPH!
A flash of orange-orange-brightbrightbright-orange hit me. HARD! First one paw on my stomach, then another on my forehead, and two more hitting the ground on my left side, twisting this, this, this... thing into an odd position over me.
And they, whatever they were, laughed! The audacity! This stalker rampaging through the vents actually laughed at me!
-
The laughter eventually led to them explaining themself. I didn't want to listen. Truly, I wanted to eject them into the void ASAP. But this kalon-like imposter sort of barrelled over me and talked my ear off, telling me their story. Their home world was dying, so they had to escape.
It turns out our ship had landed on their homeworld a good while back, and they had been here all this time! The noises, the fur (which by the way, is actually orange! No idea why all the crew thought it was red...), it's all explained. Also, those odd metal shavings? They were a type of metal found on their home world that was very valuable there, a sort of currency that they'd saved.
And... I felt bad for them. I wanted to help! Maybe I didn't think it through, but I offered them a position on our crew.
I hope it wasn't a mistake.
I hope I'm not dooming me, my crew, and potentially my world for this seemingly down on their luck shape shifting alien.
I hope...
I hope...
I hope that we all can laugh about this one day, the same way they laughed when they landed on me.
I want to keep going, but I'm really tired now, so I'll write more tomorrow.
Day 8: One of our own has been killed. My crewmates are panicked, the ship is malfunctioning, and the orange creature is MIA. I’ve been tricked and manipulated, and when I find them I swear I will-
Error. File has been autosaved.
No further logs.

Cosmo didn't grow up with many friends.
His parents moved around a lot, and he never had the time to make close friends at school.
'Till he met 'Sar online, in the spaceship.
Quasar was the impostor. Cosmo was a crewmate. He had turned a corner only to see Quasar standing by Pink's body - through some strange turn of events, Cosmo hadn't had the time to report the incident. When another player did, nobody believed that Quasar had committed the crime.
"It was cyan!"
"Cyan's not even alive!"
"Well, it was blue, then!"
Hilarity ensued as Quasar was chased around the ship for the rest of the game. Cosmo knew that if he was killed, the suspicion would fall on Quasar... so he took his newfound power to monitor the impostor wherever he went. Quasar was rightfully annoyed, and in the lobby of the next game, the two playfully insulted the gaming skills of the other. They were both new to this game, of course.
Eventually, they began to text off-game. Dozens of games turned to hundreds. They branched out to other programs, always trying to defeat each other and become the reigning player (well, Quasar was certainly better, but Cosmo did his best).
Cosmo had never had a friend like this. And honestly, he'd never had a rival like this, either. It had felt strange at first, the playful jabs, the insults - but as the friendship grew deeper, Cosmo realized how much it meant to him. He really enjoyed their rivalry.
This continued for a good while. Months. The school year ended, the weather warmed. Trees became green again.
"hey sar. whjere do u live?"
"Why do you ask?"
"i'm moving soon broo"
"Oh. I mean, OK. I'm in ███████."
There was a pause from Cosmo.
Cosmo is typing...
"i"
"What?"
"bro im literally moving there omg"
Cosmo sat in the backseat of his dad's car, looking out the window. The leaves were different here, the trees bark speckled with white and black. The flowers were different, too. Oranges and pinks, not whites and greens.
Quasar was a few houses down from him.
His frenemy was a lucky Kal. Quasar (almost) always got impostor when he wanted it. Now, he got his best friend.
Cosmo couldn't wait.
