Prompt: His sire was said to be the well-known, and by some, thought to be mythical, Aarush Elio, the stallion with the gifts of the sun. The people who found him on the side of the mountain path he was nestled by took one look at his half red eyes, and thought of the fabled horse who was said to roam the sides of the mountain, engulfed in flames, when necessary, to ward of any ill-meaning intruders; not to mention, this Stallion of Flame was a startling pure white, much like the stark white coat of the little colt half-covered in fallen pine branches. Of course, upon further inspection they found that he was not completely white, but had a blanket-like spread of black over the top half of him. So, he lived the first 2 years of his life without any suspicion hanging over his head, except for the consistent and thought-provoking question of "So...why are his eyes like that?" to which his owners would simply shrug, signifying that they didn't know why...'til one day some potential buyers came to his then-home, and brought with them an especially observant old woman. She had been sitting in the truck the whole time until little Sinbad came trotting up to the wooden fence-line the truck was parked beside, and leaned his face over it. She opened the door so fast he bobbed his face away from the fence and turned his face to the side to stare warily at her. She examined him from her place in front of the fence with growing interest and excitement. After a few minutes of this silent scrutiny, she turned from him and hobbled over to the person she had come with and the owner. Breathlessly, she told them a tale passed down by the villagers of where she was from, a place of meadows ending in dense forest, that told of a mare called Esmeray Tara whom was said to be a gift from some divine entity that was to embody the moon and yet, was as "dark as night". She told them that the red in Sinbad's eyes and the pure white of some of his coat was a sure sign that the foretold horses of the Earth and Sky had found each other and that he was the evidence of their elemental union. "So, a black horse, that's like the moon...baloney" was what the owner said; the person she had come with said nothing, but had taken her arm to steady her and look sheepishly at the owner. "Mark my words!" was what she responded with. "When that colt reaches 3 years, which he will soon by the looks of it, he'll show you his parentage for himself!" And with that she was lead away by her disconcerted escort. This left the owner slightly apprehensive, but he got over it and reaffirmed to himself that the whole story was "baloney". Until, the night Sinbad turned 3. Everyone had gone inside to have dinner, and he had been left in the long pen out back before getting put in his stall. He had been looking out at the sun setting behind the trees, watching as its rays played between the branches casting jagged shadows across his form, when a bright light made him pick his head up and look around to see where it was coming from. A brilliant white horse was standing just outside of the wooden posts making up the fence, staring at the border of the forest opposite the house expectantly. Feeling more than slightly confused, Sinbad decided to turn and see what this ghost-like horse was waiting for. A soft glow began to make its way closer to them, coming at a steady pace through the densely wooded forest. It was a tall, lithe and solidly black mare, with an unearthly, white glow shining from her. The white stallion came a few steps forward, nuzzling the mare when she reached him after trotting the rest of the way over to them. The Moon mare then turned to Sinbad and placed her nose inches from his nostrils and began to breath softly in and out. It took him awhile to realize what she'd knew all her life since having him; she was his mother. It wasn't hard to guess that the other horse, this Sun stallion, was his father. Aarush Elio threw his head up and whinnied and Esmeray Tara suddenly turned to him and then began to canter swiftly ahead of him as they both began to run in the direction of the sun, after flicking her head in their direction for Sinbad to follow. At the house, the owner had just finished his meal and was closing the back door of the house, when he saw a blaze of something he would later call "hellfire- so hot it looked cold" as Sinbad, ablaze in light, took off running toward his parents, clearing the fence as if he had grown wings. That night he took a long trip, going all across creation with his parents who had finally come back for him. He wears a wreath of holly now as a memento of that cold night that had filled him with enough warmth to last a life-time.
Other: *Me tryna be impressive^. Btw, this took me like 2 hrs, (no pressure, I enjoyed every second even if I don't get 'em, so thanks for choosing that prompt!) and the owner swears to this day that the old woman was a witch or he had too much eggnog. Sorry about any typos.
