She was certain that no other mare would want to be with her as a mate, so she never thought about it. However, it all changed when she saw another mare, Artemis, caring for a foal. It wasn't Artemis' foal it was just one frolicking and stopped to say hi, but the tenderness she showed that foal melted Blu's heart and she knew in that instance that Artemis was the one. It gave Blu the courage to ask Artemis to be her mate.
