Lion name: Brunor
Lion gender: Male
Pride: Red Eagle
Pride status: Knight
Prompt:
Brunor's name reflects his life events quite aptly. With Brun meaning "armour, protection", In his case; protection seems to apply a little more accurately to his situation.
A lion's innate instinct is to view any animal smaller than it, generally, their prey. However, when Brun met Morholt, he did not feel that at all.
It was evening. In the closing shadows he could make out something a few metres away. It seemed to be injured, the rising and falling of it's form the only sign of movement.
Further ahead; a snake. flicking its tongue menacingly, making it's way over slowly.
Of course, he had to step in. He pounced just as it was about to strike, pinning the snake down - he swiftly dispatched it. Whoever he had just rescued began to stand, so he quickly made his way over.
The figure was small, round and silky looking - with no eyes. A golden mole.
The mole thanked him, they got talking. It perhaps would've looked a little ridiculous, a huge lion avidly chatting with a smaller mole, but they hit it off immediately and had not even taken a moment to look at themselves from an outer perspective.
Brun knew, however, this friendship would not be appreciated back in the pride.
Brun lowered himself to the ground carefully and Morholt clambered his way onto Brun's back and hid himself within the fur of Brun's long neck mane.
"You'll be safe here," Brun affirmed.
And so Brunor had taken in Morholt, the elusive golden mole, an immediately close bond that needed to be protected and hidden.
Nobody would know what he hid in the little alcove inside his den, nor would they know where all the little tunnels they found when digging out new dens had come from. For now anyway.
