The smell of old cloth and paper filled Cal's nose as she softly thumbed through the pages of the book in her lap.

She wasn't generally a gentle person - she was more on the careless, rough side. She placed a finger on her current page and closed the book to admire the title. Cal had stared at the delicate golden circle that intertwined around itself to protect the words "Little Women" a hundred times, but she never got tired of it. She opened the book back and continued thumbing through the pages. Then came her favorite part - Jo and Laurie dancing in the hallway - and a small bundle of dried heather hid there, nestled against the old cloth binding.

That - the dried heather - that was her most prized possession... a memory of her favorite day hidden away in her favorite part of her favorite book.

It was the only thing Ollie had left of her parents and she treasured it. Every time she looked into it and turned it the designs always seemed to change, like her mom was constantly drawing new images.
