Pluto grew up in a very interesting household.

Her parents were polar opposites - her mom was a tiny, sweet woman with psychic abilities who channeled them though crystals in order to heal people, and her dad was a giant, burly biker who worked the mines and listened to practically nothing other than rock music (he was, in fact, a very proud AC/DC devotee with the paraphernalia to prove it - much to her mother's dismay). Pluto's father would be gone to a nearby mining town for weeks at a time for work, but he always came back home with various crystals and geodes that he had retrieved from the mines to give to her mother.

A small girl looked up at the shelf of crystals, her face scrunched up and eyebrows raised. "What do we even need this many for? We have them all over the house - they take up soooooo much room!" she declared, sighing dramatically. Her mother raised her own eyebrow at the girl in response, looking down at her sternly, "Because they mean a lot to me, Pluto."

She just scrunched up her face even more, "But why?"

"Because they allow me to channel my abilities so that I can help-"

Just then Pluto interrupted the woman with a squeal of excitement and ran from the kitchen and towards the door. Her mother let out a short sigh, caught somewhere between annoyed and amused, and went back to tending her crystals. Moments later, the little girl reappeared attached at the hip to a burly man, and the kitchen was filled with the earthy scents of the mine. Even though she had undoubtedly hugged him already, Juno let out another squeal and turned to hug the man again, "I'm so glad you're home, Dad! Now I can finally talk about something other than crystals..."

Her father tried, and failed, to suppress a grin as he looked at his wife, who was glaring ever so slightly at him in return.

As a child, Pluto's interests always aligned much more with her father's than her mother's. This was partially because she was very much a rough and tumble type so his interests went well with her personality. She found crystals boring and hated having strangers coming into her house to have her mother help heal them - which, was something she didn't entirely believe worked, either. Sometimes, when her father was gone, Pluto just wanted to scream at her mother to stop faking psychic abilities, wanted to scream at the people that came and went to stop buying into the hoax.

When her father was home, though, they would do everything together. She would dress up in his band t-shirts, even though they were several sizes too big and always dragged on the floor, and they would spend hours listening to his records and CDs. Once, Pluto heard the song "Take on Me" by Aha on the radio, and it quickly became her father's favorite song, despite it being out of his realm of musical taste, simply because she loved it so much and he loved watching her dance to it so happily.

Tears welled up in Pluto's eyes as she gasped for air.

Her throat was so tight she could barely breathe, and she could swear she was about to suffocate at any second. She was crumpled on the floor facing the couch in her mother's arms. "M-m-mom... Mom, I... I... I can't... I can't... I can't..." she could barely choke the words out through her tears as she looked up at her mom, whose tear-stained face looked just as pained as her own.

"I know, sweet girl," the woman whispered, kissing Pluto's forehead as she took her daughter's face in her hands, "But we can't heal if we don't get the chance to say goodbye to him."

After her father died, Pluto and her mother were forced together - they grew closer than they would otherwise have ever been in order to try to cope with their loss. She found a new respect for her mother's psychic abilities, as well as a newfound belief in them, and a new love for crystals. Pluto took it upon herself to go searching for more crystals for her mother after a few years passed, and quickly found that it reminded her of her father - the earthy scents that surrounded her were like a warm hug from her father.

However, she found it could get rather lonely searching for them all by yourself, though, so she decided to add music, and her mother made her a playlist to listen to while she searched for them (aka the prompt playlist). It's filled with a few of the songs that were her and her father's favorites that they used to listen to constantly. The playlist adds a special touch to the crystal collecting, and it really does make it feel like her father could be right there with her.

Merryway has a passion for making homemade Christmas and Halloween decor.
Sounds odd, yes, but their customers don't think it is.
That's right- Merryway has their own entire shop that they run! It opens during August, two months before Halloween, and closes early January, after Christmas. During late November and all through December, the store is called "Merryway's Tinsel & Stockings" while during August, September, and October, the shop is titled "Merryway's Spooks & Frights."
Merryway got into making their own holiday decorations at a young age, since their family was quite poor and had no way of making money. The young cow would gather any random items they could find around the place - think candy wrappers, bobby pins, buttons, socks, etc. - and created their own crudely-made Christmas decorations. They sold the decorations to cows in the neighborhood and managed enough money to buy a car! (There was... Quite alot of random trash around the house. Nobody bothered to clean. Their former home wasn't so great when they thinks about it-)
Merryway carried their old hobbies with them as they grew, and when they finally moved away from their parent's home, they gathered all the money they had earned...
...and took a nice vacation to Hawaii.
Okay, but after that, they opened up their shop! Merryway expanded to Halloween decorations aswell and has been doing great so far. They hope to keep it up, and maybe move to Thanksgiving decorations..?

Honestly this whole soundtrack gets her pumped up to play tabletop games. It's an incredible theme to an incredible campaign. It slaps and more importantly it immediately puts her in the mood to play some tabletop games. What this theme represent is what she strives to achieve in her own tabletop games.

Prompt: hestia helps the less fortunate with car repairs! she's happy to travel and as long as they can reach out to her or have their friends reach out and they're less than three hours away, she'll drive out to them. as a teen she spent a lot of time in jail waiting for her parents to bail her out after doing something stupid, and as she grew she learned to fear actually being there without the confidence her parents would help.

she definitely grew up as a spoiled brat, but as she's grown she's humbled herself and realized her place of power, so she takes a lot of her time doing free work for others! hestia never asks for pay on repairs she does, but she tends to find a little bit of money (and sometimes phone numbers) in her toolbag, which she never mentions because it makes her feel a bit bad.

to outsiders she seems like a hard soul that wouldn't do anything for anyone, but honestly she just wants to help others who don't have the resources she has. her parents support her and while she wishes to break that, she's grateful for their money to keep her moving and giving others helping hands.

Though she may be grandmotherly in her mannerisms, she is by no means an expert at knitting just yet- she’s prone to forgetting stitches, and her creations at this stage are frequently at least a little bit lumpy. But she’s getting better- and though it’ll surely be s long road until she’s got it figured out, that doesn’t stop her from enjoying it in the meantime. And imperfect or not, the blankets and scarves she knits are certainly warm.

Matilda finds that listening to music with words can prove distracting- especially when she’s trying to keep count of her stitches- and so tends to gravitate to more instrumental music.

Not everyone in the barn appreciates her blasting of dramatic instrumental tracks, but it certainly keeps Matilda motivated. Oftentimes she’ll find herself tapping her hooves and stitching in time with the music, imagining the vivid scenes of adventure the music seems to paint for her. Perhaps one day when she’s more skilled she’ll be able to knit patterns of some of these scenes in her head.

Prompt: Saf used to be very embarrassed to like tik toks. She knew that a lot of people her age would be appalled because it was seen as something for children but she quickly grew attached to the app and fell in love with the trends coming out of it. At first, she would just like things and save them for herself to laugh at later but then she would get antsy seeing people perform dances and look like they were having the time of their lives. She had started learning some trending dances in her free time, smiling at herself in the mirror while she made tons of mistakes but then eventually found herself getting better.

She slowly started posting videos of her own and she saw the like and shares going up and up and up. It made her happy to make the content that she started to enjoy herself and she hoped that the people watching her felt just as much joy and inspiration as she did.
