Prompt response:Carmie's nostrils flared as she took in the scent of the stand. There was one in particular that stood out to her.
"Blackberry Jam," Carmie mumbled under her breath as she grabbed the jar. Carmie looked to the stand owner, Aziraphale, and then back to the jam.
Carmie unscrewed the lid and stuck the toes of her hoof in, drawing it out and licking the jam off. The taste was oddly familiar...
Carmie put the lid back onto the jar and set it down. She leaned against the stand as she recalled the memory and relayed it to Azi.
"I remember that my mother's favorite fruit was blackberries. When I was still at my old home in a factory, my mother would take me across the field (when we were allowed out) and ask me to help her look for blackberries. She told me that when she was young, blackberries were one of the first solid food she'd ever eaten, and she'd loved them ever since. But when she was taken to the factory, she'd never eaten anything remotely tasty ever again. But when she was allowed out onto the field, she knew that there were tastier things waiting.
We searched. We searched for a long time. It was on the second week of searching that she finally found it- a small blackberry bush hidden in the shade of two old trees. Every day since my mother went there and picked blackberries. I quickly found the sweet fruit to become my favorite too, and not because it had been the only fruit I'd been eating for a while. I'd found myself having more energy, and when I shared some with my friends, they were livelier to.
Unfortunately, when the owner of the factory found out what we were consuming, he uprooted the bush, along with most other fruit plants in the area.
It was good while it lasted. I had fun times with my mom during then.
Fun times..."
Carmie was smiling at the ground with a blank look on her face when the buzzing of a fly knocked her back into reality. She flicked her ears, smiling at Aziraphale. She picked up the blackberry jam jar.
"I'll be buying this," She said.
