Prompt:Roll of Thunder, Since the very first day Logan stepped into the show arena, he believed that everything should be fair. If you put the work in, you get a reward. If you did not put any work in, you don't get anything. What you sow, you reap. Logan has and always will live by that.
Hear my cry, He was a foal when he met a chestnut foal, a rose gray to be exact, although he did not look it yet. They never did like each other, but it was soon fixed when the chestnut colt was sold to a different stable as a show jumper prospect. As far as Logan knew, the foals would never see each other ever again. Out of sight, out of mind.
Over the water, Logan grew quickly, training and reaching closer to showing with every step he took. He was progressing pretty well, jumps were nothing to him. It was not difficult to get him started, and everything was perfectly fine at the time. Since he had been doing so well, he was scheduled to go to a smaller local show where he could start his career off.
Bye and Bye, The schooling day came as quick as a bullet does. And Logan well knew. He was anxious, nervous all day. Logan was scheduled to be jumped today, it was raining and gross outside, but it would have to work. He was groomed and tacked, and the time came to jump. His owner mounted him and took him to the arena where they warmed up. It was pouring outside. Once they were warmed up, they jumped around. So far, he had done well. The last jump came up fast, and Logan sped up, causing him to land in an uneven way. His neck flung forward, his rider with it, over his head. Logan slid to a stop, heart racing.
Ole man comin', Logan was groomed and clean, now in his stall with a black and yellow stable sheet on. He was not the happiest horse in the stable. Rain poured down outside. His owner walked towards him, caked in mud. Logan expected him to be disappointed or upset, but he wasn't. He stroked Logan's neck, smiling and whispering to him. This is when Logan realized there was nothing to fear.
Down the line, The show day came and went at the same speed. Logan was taken there the day before the event early in the morning. Throughout the day, he got to graze and relax with his owner. It was relaxing. Then, his owner gave him grain for the night and left in his black truck. Logan looked out of his stall and saw a bald faced stallion being walked by a stable hand. His coat was shining and dappled gray, tail banged and cleaned to perfection. He was familiar to Logan, but he didn't seem to know who he was exactly.
Whip in hand to Logan woke up early, ready as he could be. His owner came and groomed him, tacked him, and took him to school. Everything worked itself out and he was back on track again. Logan was quite confident now that he had jumped clear in the morning warm up. Later that day he would jump and he did not currently have a care in the world.
Beat me down, He took a short nap and woke up to his owner with a halter in his hands. Logan got up and allowed his owner to take him to the cross ties where he was groomed until he was shining. He was then tacked in his jumper tack, the saddle pad, ear bonnet, and leg wraps being black and yellow. Logan was set to go. He was walked down and warmed up for the last time.
But I ain't Logan walked into the show arena, nervous but prepared. He picked up a canter, going around the jumps and seeing everything there was to see. His ears flickered and perked as he cantered to the first jump, clearing jump one and two. The clock counted down as he ran to jump three, the grey again appearing in the corner of his eye. He realized who it was and he was filled with determination. Logan cleared jump three and four, ears pinning as he got faster and jumped higher. He then bolted down a two stride consisting of jump five and six, barely making it over six as he got a little too close to it. Logan finished jump seven and eight off well, proud as he could ever be, trotting around the arena.
Gonna let him He has been the most spirited horse at Amber Hollow since, and we expect him to be successful in show jumping. His ability to jump is insane. Logan's owners plan on keeping his training going and showing him constantly to get him used to the show arena so he is not nervous in the future. He has big dreams and a bright future ahead of him in his show jumping career, and all of Amber Hollow wishes him the best of luck.
