She feels safe enveloped in the blanket of cold and wetness, it brings her great comfort.

It is like the embrace of her mother, who she lost long ago- when she was known by a different name.
Like a fish in water, Eris is limber and graceful and swift when she swims. It is like a second nature to her, though it hadn't always been that way. When she was younger, she was known as Cygnet, a little tom whose parents wanted a strong fighter to carry on their legacy. It's not very hard to see how Eris had grown out of that identity and chose one for herself when she grew up however.
She aspired to be a merchant, and did become one for a little while. Yet she had no intention to join a guild, as her motives did not meet with what they offered. Fighting for and defending Catalena ? She could care less about those things, as she was a mischievous and admittedly self-centered cat. All Eris needed was wealth and her own skill to get by, and that was how she lived for majority of her life.
In the past, Eris her cunning and intelligence to trick others and steal goods from them. When she saw a cat with something she wanted, she was set on taking it, often changing her personality and demeanour to be more charming and charismatic. Eris most definitely had a talent in reading people, and she used it in a beneficial way for herself. More often than not, the cat she would steal from got angry and would pursue her as she made her getaway. This is where her affinity for the water especially came in handy, as her ability to swim and hide in bodies of it allowed her to avoid actual confrontations.
What's more is that Eris has had a bit of a talent for brewing potions- using knowledge she'd read over in books before to brew herself potions that would help her breathe beneath the surface of bodies of water. Armed with amalgamations of her making, Eris got away with most of the things she stole. And if she found no use of it or got bored of whatever the item was, she would sell it in the marketplace. This was how she made a living, going from town to town to avoid getting arrested in the previous ones.
The first time she encountered a member from the Moonwatchers' was when she spotted a particular warrior's golden sword. She would have almost gotten away with tricking him too, but unfortunately for her, an ally of the swordsman showed up, which resulted in Eris' capture. Eventually, she was convinced to join their guild, but she had to reform herself if she'd ever wanted to be truly recognized as part of it.
She'd laughed then. But look where it's gotten her now.
